Can somebody help as to the reason why sometimes the pad keeps whatever I’m controlling on screen travelling in one direction normally crashing me into a wall/enemy.
It seems it’s the PC not responding to the controller rather than the pad itself.
SEGA Saturn USB pad problem.

I sometimes get this effect in MAME after booting up a game. The pad will react as if I pushed the d-pad up constantly. However, this effect only lasts a few seconds. After that, everything's normal. It seems to me that the computer has some difficulties adjusting to the pad, but once it's managed to do it everything's fine. I lack the technical skills to understand what's going on, so I can only assume.
