I recently acquired an Extron DVS 605 A for cheap, hoping to use it in a dedicated little setup for emulation. Found an excellent guide on RetroRGB for adding custom EDID configuration to output 240p/480i. I also plan to play around with timings to try to get the PC to output a native 4:3 format like 1440×1080@60 or 1600×1200@60.
But I seem to have run into a dead end, as the PCS software refuses to handshake with the box, saying its firmware is too old and unsupported (device firmware version is 1.00.0019, minimum required is 1.19). Software has flaky behavior at this point, sometimes offering to try to download firmware from Extron, other times showing a file picker for me to flash my own firmware. Download always fails with a cryptic error, and I never really expected it to work as I don't have an insider account with them and they don't seem to want to give me one.
Anyone know of a workaround in PCS, or happen to have a copy of firmware?
