Anyone ever use a keyboard (like big musical ones) stand with bigger arcade sticks?

Post by Modular511 »

I am considering maybe making some sort of an abomination for use with my hori vewlix - I was looking at this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PWRJT5R/re ... 26133&th=1

Idea ultimately would be to get a monitor mount and attach it to that support bar somehow - or worst case maybe having it against a wall with a monitor attached to said wall - I want a poor mans cab situation and somewhere I can have a monitor always ready or able to be TATE. TY for any ideas or opinions - getting tired of using it on my lap lolol

Bought the liquid stands version of that stand so I'd have the option of rigging up a second tier mount as a monitor stand at some point. Currently have a desk panel sitting on top of the base unit. I'm eventually going to drill holes to fasten the panel down. Another option would be to buy/build an X-Arcade style control panel and just slap it in there. The weight should keep it in place. check out the Arcade Controls link for a completed build.

Yooooo!!! I had no idea about the two tier ones!! That would work even better - I could bolt a monitor arm to that top portion and have more options! Did you have a monitor mount to go on the top tier that you had in mind?? I have a hori vewlix already! The goal for this is to essentially have a "poor mans" vewlix setup.

I googled and didn't see many people using these for sticks - was surprised lol

To mount a it, you'll want something like this

https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Universal-B ... B07N6MZHT5

Note the pole shapes don't match, but it should work. The main issue is the mount doesn't go back far enough for a good viewing experience, the easiest solution is to bring the desk panel forward.

I prefer this type of set up over a dedicated arcade machine. It's cheap, sturdy and modular. I'm currently using a 43" TV with a TV stand. https://www.amazon.com/ONKRON-Mobile-St ... B07928YBQ5

The following stand would make for a great sit down build.
