Mayflash SS to PC adapter on PS3

Post by WarChild »

Hey brains trust.

I've seen a few videos using the Mayflash SS to PC adapter on a ps3 on Youtube. But they're more just a "it works" video than a setup/tutorial. https://youtu.be/BPB7qvu3qnY?si=VGCRYCEnlEZtDeqE

Various Amazon reviews also state it works.

As yet, I've had no success getting it working. I plug it in to the PS3 and none of the inputs work. I've tried both ports on the adapter and both input types. The device is powered by PS3 as if I plug the brooks Saturn to PS4 adapter in the red power light comes on. I have confirmed the adapter is working on PC as it recognises all the buttons of my Saturn pads on controller test in windows.

Has anyone got any tips for PS3 use. For example, do I need to press a button combination for "home" to activate the controller or set up USB controller in the PS3 settings somewhere?

I have the Sega Saturn Dual arcade stick. I would love to connect to my ps3 for shmups and arcade games/mame etc on CFW.

Thanks in advance
Mikey

I haven't tried mine on a PS3, but those Mayflash adapters have comparatively more lag than a RP2040 based encoder, so might be worth looking into those.
