Framemeister Issues with SNES and SCART

Post by wgbrewer »

Hello and thank you for any help I can get.

Background - I bought a Framemeister Mini to hook a 1st edition SNES system to. I didn't have an RGB cable so I bought one. I bought the wrong one (US/Euro version) so I bought a converter from that to JP21 (Japan version). I only got audio through it. So, I scrapped that and bought a supposed right Japan version. I have the supposed good framemeister and supposed good cable connected to the Framemeister and output settings per some that I found online.

Issue - the picture is very dark and not even the quality of a standard composite straight to newer tv.

How to resolve? any ideas.

I'm not sure how to post pictures in here.

I really appreciate any help.

Perhaps you are using a PAL SNES console? PAL SNES consoles require different components inside the SCART cable compared to NTSC consoles:-

You need a PAL specific SNES SCART cable along with the EuroSCART to JP21 adapter to use it with the Framemeister, something like this should work:-

Sync on Composite or Sync on Luma should be fine, no need for a sync stripper/CSYNC version (Assuming your using an XRGB-Mini with firmware 1.08 or above)

Just to add, from your original post its not quite clear which adapters you are currently using in combination, but if your looking for an adapter that allows you to use EuroSCART cables connected to the XRGB-Mini directly, then I would also consider this:-

In combination with the PAL SNES SCART cable linked in my previous post.
