I have two DC VGA boxes and they work fine on all CRT monitors.
Lately I've tried them on Plasma TVs, and the results are mixed. It's a strange problem.
On the Panasonic TH-42PE30 and TH-42PWD6 the DC looks great in VGA, running at native 480p.
On an LG 42PX3RVA I get jailbars, like a repeating pattern of 6 vertical bars running across the image. I've tried plugging a laptop into the LG and the image is perfect, so the problem is not the TV's VGA input.
Any ideas what's wrong?
It's annoying, because the Panasonic is great with VGA, but adds sharpening noise when using component. The LG is great with component and HDMI, but has this jailbar problem with the Dreamcast and VGA.
Dreamcast VGA and Jailbars
Re: Dreamcast VGA and Jailbars
Solved: Auto config "to set" needed to be activated, which changed the phase from 0 to 10, removing the jailbars. Maybe I'll leave this here, because I've seen this problem discussed elsewhere online.
