Super Famicom, VRAM Low Fail, changed one, but...

Post by Jiimboo »

Hi!

I've a SFC some years with me, and now I bought the Burn in test cart, and it says:

A friend of mine, looking the diagram, says me that it can be one of the VRAM and I tried to change with a 2 donor and didn't work, and now I bought some new RAM, same model, and same error...

Any help, please?

Thanks!

Might be one of the other chips, or maybe a bad trace or cap or something. IIRC a fail on the Burn-in cart can sometimes indicate a problem that isn't as obvious as it would have you believe.

You might need to start switching chips between boards to determine which ones are good.

what exactly does "low VRAM" actually mean? That there are addresses that can't be properly accessed?
