CT Special Forces series....
I have a Game Boy Player for my Cube, so I've been wondering what this series is like? Is it basically MS without a score, and with more strategy? The graphics on the GBA ports look great, but I wonder if I could play the PS1 games on my modded PS1.
"Farewell to false pretension
Farewell to hollow words
Farewell to fake affection
Farewell, tomorrow burns"

PS1 games? Hmm interesting, I didn't know this series was on the PS1.
Anyway, I've only played the first one on GBA, and I didn't like it much at all. The graphics are wannabe-Metal Slug, but not nearly as detailed, and I thought the gameplay was really imbalanced. I think the developers were trying to pay homage to Metal Slug while going in a different direction at the same time (which is fine), but the resulting game isn't half as fun as any MS title. Actually, it plays more similarly to the NGPC Metal Slug games, but it's not as good as those either. The game it really reminds me of is Contra Force on the NES, although it's a better game than that -- but that could be said about most games.
Better than Contra Force, worse than Metal Slug -- where does that leave it? It's not a bad title, but on the GBA you'd be better served by trying out Metal Slug Advance or Gunstar Super Heroes. Neither one really lives up to their namesake IMO, but they're both more enjoyable than CT.

We here shall not rest until we have made a drawing-room of your shaft, and if you do not all finally go down to your doom in patent-leather shoes, then you shall not go at all.
The graphics are pretty good, in fact I was quite impressed with the animations.
It plays nothing like Metal Slug, and everything like ass.
I have a complete and minty CT Special Forces (the first one) that I can sell... make me an offer if you're interested, but chances are you can probably find one locally around $5 or something anyway.

CT Special Forces is flawed but fun little game. The gameplay is much more deliberate and slower than a Metal Slug game. I've only played the first one, the others are supposedly massive improvements though.
The ones on the PSX/PS2/XBox are 3D action games that are universally garbage.
Correct me if I'm wrong but one of the main designers of the 2D games was the mastermind behind Turrican?
