Sega Saturn Disc rot

Post by KimagureMachibuse »

I have Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius (Live Chatting Parodius) on the Sega Saturn that has a few noticble small holes in should i be worried? The game works 100% through all the stages and including the omake 1 and 2 and the audio tracks play fine with no skipping last i checked.

We talked about it some a while back:

I don't know if anyone can give a clear answer on something like this.

Isolated pinholes aren't a warning sign in themselves; even brand-new and fully operational discs can evidence them, if held up to a strong light. I don't know enough about the manufacturing process to say, but I would imagine they're just a harmless quirk. Rot tends to be accompanied by obvious discolouration, cloudy smudges, and other obvious markers.

If the game is running fine, I wouldn't worry.
