GUN2CRT - Namco GunCon for USB HID devices (Mame/Mister/Pi)

I think there are few other light gun fans here who might be interested in JayBee's up and coming GunCon 1 adapter that allows you to use it with USB Hid compatible devices like PCs, Pis and the Mister. It works with resolutions from 240p up to 960p currently, the latter being handy for those who like to up-render their games and/or only have a 31khz+ CRT. I'm assuming this will be a faster setup than using a Sinden if you have a CRT and better than those current IR solutions like aimtrak.



He also has designed a DIY kit for LCD users called GUN4IR which is pretty fast and averages 4ms of latency:

MisterAddons is aware of it so I'm guessing there's a chance they'll stock it once the project is done, hopefully, some other vendors too.

I'm extremely excited for this project. I'm practically tripping over VGA monitors including one that looks fantastic at 960p. I want to play some quality House of the Dead and CarnEvil. Guess I better start looking into all of those various projects that turn force-feedback arcade guns into console guns.

Arcade HotD 1 for sure! Saturn port was okay but with GunCon like accuracy, it'll be amazing.

There's this recoil mod for the GunCon 1 I've seen but not much progress has been made since last year http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.p ... 767.0.html
