JP Darius Gaiden & In The Hunt Save Scores?

Long time lurker here but first time posting.
I couldn't find this information anywhere so I figured I'd ask.

I have the US releases of Darius Gaiden and In The Hunt for the Saturn, neither of which save high scores or even option settings in the Saturn's memory, which is a total bummer of course.. Can anyone that has the Japanese or maybe PAL releases confirm if those versions do in fact save your data?
