I think I found the missing pieces of information about the Hydra Revised from this video on the creator's YouTube channel.

In the video, he mentions that the original hydra can be modded to display a RGB(no s) signal as well as add sync on green support. However, these mods would permanently alter the ports. I'm guessing that the revised model added these features as standard and made them switchable.

Revising this because I can't find anything else on the matter elsewhere. After having used the V2 8 way Hydra, it works well for the most part but audio on my SNES comes through distorted, like it clips rather easily if it gets loud. Doesn't happen when directly connected to my A/V receiver. I wonder if this is related to the advertised "audio buffer", and if there is a way to bypass it.
