My first memorable introduction to Chris was his appearance on Moyers and Company. It always amazed me they allowed Moyers to have a show at all, even if it was only for a few years and nobody watched it.

These days his organization is reduced to shit posting on the internet... Not really something the world has a dearth of, but a cat's paw for a dying man and all that.

Youtube "disappears" channels all the time for the silliest of reasons.

There were some good shows on RT back in the day, but RT is actual state media from Russia, and Alphabet Inc. doesn't want to be associated in any way with the rape of Mariupol.

If you think social media should be taken out of the hands of weirdo tech bros and their inscrutable algorithms and nationalized so some form of the fairness doctrine is applied, I'm all ears!

Also Mariupol before...

...and after its cancellation by Russia:

Then he says to the white dude "Watch out for that black dude, he wants a piece of your cookie!"

I am loving the bloodbath of uneasy bedfellows this ancient yarn - one guy battering another for crackin' all Wisey McWisenheimer at he lady wife Image - has provoked! An instant of fury, an ocean of claret under gleaming dark.

Is be liek wot dat cunt who kilt teh snaek in KING ARFUR III: KING ARFUR DED done! Cor - worra mixup! :o Alternativery, is be like these stroppy cunts are all hook up - MUTUALLY, yea - to Uncle Frank's Torture-o-Rama from \m/ HELLRAZOR! \m/ And too great a SOCJUS paroxysm - normally all pleasantly vindictive, and shit! Image - instead triggers JE_SUS.WEPT

The stronger the shackle, the more violent its shattering. Image It's enough to make a man sick. Image It's enough to raise a man's prick. Image

Yooo! Best TV ever, give them an Oscars 2! Image Wait fuck. TV is the Polanskis. Shit. I meant the Harveys. Crumbs! I meant the Emmies. They all habe such cute names - and snazzy suits! :o

I gotta say, Rock's "Oh? You're approaching me?" is the best live-action portrayal of Dio Brando we'll ever see anywhere ;-;7

I just really like how alopecia for women, and now seemingly especially black women, is this just absolute don't talk about it super sensitive subject, and according to that article Blinge posted, a "disability"; yet male-pattern baldness, aka also alopecia, is like ehhhhh, w/e, make fun of bald dudes all you want.

The buff chain behind that one is truly cataclysmic, compressing THREE great elements of Race, Gender and Disability into a spacetime-flaying blade of pure Intersectionality. Contact is instant death to most; only a Greater Exalted Goat of the Western IDPOL sect could foil the annihilating caress, its vitals shielded by tonnes of rankly clotted fur and chitinous hide. And so we bear witness to a rare clash of obscenities par excellence! Great heaving juggernauts of torturously patchworked tissue, trading crude yet incomprehensibly destructive blows, the aftershocks pureeing lesser critters into so much crowfeed. Even bodies of such toweringly impenetrable hypocrisy would crumble under the bone-shattering force! Only their Redwood-girthy mainlines to the sweet, sweet Grift granting the power - or the will - to stay standing. Image

With both horrid varmints drawing on that self-same animating force, your humble companion wonders if their very ecosystem might feel the strain. Image

Yeah... I don't want to be Will Smith's imaginary friend no mo'.

The most annoying part is how I had to learn about their private lives, something I was happier off not knowing. While it's nice I guess to know that millionaires can be absolutely miserable and have shit lives, that's nothing new.
Mischief Maker wrote:If you think social media should be taken out of the hands of weirdo tech bros and their inscrutable algorithms and nationalized so some form of the fairness doctrine is applied, I'm all ears!
Eh, I'm not an advocate of this idea. It reminds me a bit when 'roo would argue that we'd have some democracy if our election system was better: if we could make it better, we wouldn't need to write it down onto law. We'd have power and things would just be better. As it is, the tech bros are already doing the bidding of those in power a fair bit, and I only see that getting worse giving them direct control.

It's not the end of the world like being denied food, shelter, insulin, or a bone marrow transplant. We can still talk to one another off the big sites, we can still say "fuck [whoever]" without being gulag'ed. We're doing pretty good, compared to where we'll be later!

Nationalizing ISP's, now. I'm first in line to bust up those price-gouging devil motherfuckers. It also deals with a natural monopoly: a physical thing in the real world that occupies space.

It's nice to see the internet's unearthed a clip of Will Smith getting away with making the exact same kind of bald jokes on national TV. https://twitter.com/Peter_OKH/status/15 ... 6202863617

But it's only wrong when it's directed at his wife, right?

It's frustrating to see this kind of hypocrisy on display, but even moreso it's frustrating to see just how much the internet is giving attention to this trite, petty bullshit rather than actual issues that matter, like the fact that we've just seen a record-breaking heatwave in the antarctic that's really damn concerning. While we've still got a global pandemic and a war going on started by a belligerent nuclear power that's actively interfered in the elections of numerous countries.
It reminds me a bit when 'roo would argue that we'd have some democracy if our election system was better
It's an indisputable fact that a better election system will trend towards attracting and electing better candidates for the position. This is mathematically demonstrable. I never claimed that improving an election system is an immediate fix for all of a society's democratic problems or that an improved election system has a 0% chance of electing a bad politician.
if we could make it better, we wouldn't need to write it down onto law.
This is such a strangely illogical, sweeping statement from you. I'm afraid your pessimism is at odds with reality. There are plenty of instances where laws are written in that improve things in a material way, such as mandating that all vehicles have seatbelts and that they be used by drivers. Or setting food and safety laws that set acceptable limits on dangerous contaminants.

The reaction to when the arctic is ice free is gonna be great: a big 'ole collective shrug by everyone. Monkey brains are wired for immediate survival and social drama (which is strongly linked with immediate survival), not for abstract long-term survival.

I know, "some democracy" is hardly portraying that you claimed it'd be a panacea.

I still feel it's a chicken and the egg situation. Of course a society that could do things to diminish corporate power, is a society where they sometimes diminish corporate power.
This is such a strangely illogical, sweeping statement from you.
The "it" in that sentence is referring to election systems very specifically, and not other things. Ralph Nader can piss and moan and save millions of lives in that example, yes. The communists ended child labor. Five day workweek. Mandating owners pay in money instead of scrip, etc. That some things can get better some times is self evident.

While the pessimist in me reluctantly agrees with you that it seems hopeless for any electoral reform to happen in North America given it's been literally decades with no progress on this, I'm still (probably naively) holding out hope it'll somehow happen with sufficient push by electoral reform advocates. Keep bangin' the drum hoping someone will listen sort of thing. If America could embrace nordic model socialist capitalism while they're at it it'd be great, but I have no hope that it'll happen in this century or the next.

Of course, if we all get nuked by Russia, nuclear winter will commence, and we'll be too busy playing "Fallout" IRL for it to matter. Things to look forward to. :/

Aw, everything seems impossible until it isn't. Dynasties throughout history seem so powerful, before eventually falling off a cliff. The Bernie kids will inherit the democratic party one day: they had to literally ratfuck the man this time to keep him from winning the nomination. (Its relative success shows movements need to be holistic and can't be just about one issue or one person. Everyone has their own dreams and bugbears.) Eventually the farce will reach a point where they really would have to start gulag'ing people to maintain control.

.... I suppose that's a good reason for why the capitalists need the fash to seize and lock down power. Hoo boy...

Anyway, outside of government, we're on the cusp of many miracles. Treatments to counteract aging somewhat, just in time for the end of the world.

I had a rare moment of lucidity and decided that for once, on some issues - like trans athletes swimming or Will Smith blasting Chris Rock - it wouldn't do any harm if I didn't broadcast my opinion to the entire world 8)

I'll be a bit upset if the Academy throws the book at Smith because the Academy regrets not throwing him out the other day. I trust Whoopi, though. Comedians need to be able to have a joke bomb without being hit; the Oscars lives and dies on freedom of expression but it does seem they've had difficulty setting the standards when it comes to the emcee. At the end of the day, it was a misdemeanor. That "don't get in black people's business" is just a silly line not to take seriously.

But I really just want to talk about the joke 50 cent aimed at Jussie Smollett:

"Will Smith slapped me too!"

has anyone been thinking about the current twitter trend to arbitrarily cancel stuff to be funny? like, we are cancelling food today, what do you wanna cancel?

it's now officially become the same thing as the word "problematic" where it can literally refer to committing genocide or to saying something slightly off-color about your maid.

Every day I kinda feel more and more like one of those exposition NPC guys from a time traveling story, who establish the stakes for the protagonist.

Every day the threads of fate narrow more and more, and it appears that they are converging into one incontrovertible world line: the future where Marjorie Taylor Greene is president.
Mischief Maker wrote:Twitter is the graveyard of revolutions.

It really is a place for idiots to yell at other idiots. The only useful utility I've seen for it is humorous shitposts, like dril. (Internet Hippo isn't as humorous as he once was, I think all the grimdark has broken him down into a gloomy doomer. Humans don't seem to take to doomerism as well as us robots : / ) Even a venture like that Nate Silver parody by the chapo kids, Carl Diggler, was better with the blog format.

Sometimes I read something interesting and/or technical on twitter and it always leaves me confused: "why the hell are you posting this here, where no one will ever be able to find it???"

i use twitter almost exclusively for the local community stuff and the ppl i interact with there i generally know irl. i mute the hell out of anything political or celebrity, but still sometimes these trend things sneak into my cave. i was noticing the recent trend for a soft castration of cancel culture and was noting that, if it was happening on twitter, then it must well and truly have happened and is now done. not so much that twitter has spoken, but that it has gotten the message

GAMERGAAAAAAAAATE

Post by BIL »

It Is Happening Again. Ethan Klein: a once-affable weedbro with a dick rendered inoperable by obesity and SSRIs. Former cause celebre of Gamergate, first supporting a fat dad CANCEL ATTACKED by a psychotic brown limey cunt, then being falsely flagged by a hairy white burger cunt.

Later made shock embrace of the Woke orthodoxy du jour, and tried his chubby hand @ cancelling sundry foes. Until this week, when Ethan yukked it up about TEH BUMSEX, thereby committing Neo Blasphemy, and losing ALL his sponsors. Justice and revenge have been served. Image Yet in this, and other recent events, your faithful connoisseur of untreated autism senses a pattern... a circle, even! :O

In 2022, the Eighth Year of Literal Internet Gonorrhea aka Gamergate...
~THE QUEST FOR FREE SPEECH CONTINUES~

Christ is king, ladies and gentlemen! Image What's good, Gamers? It's your brown boy in the ring, the one who punted John Walker Flynt square in his gangrenous back-alley gash! The literal Cyber Murderer of untold scrubs, and stalwart friend to poor players everywhere: Dr Richard "Penis" Biruford of Giant Spacekat Gaming, LLC! What? No, the patch isn't done yet. Fuck off! MISOGYNY!

Sorry about that. Pursued by irate customers, I mean misogynists, I am currently squatting in this dilapidated - yet surprisingly comfy! - shithole. 3; Gather round the flaming trashcan, put another rat on the barbie, and for the love of Christ: keep your back to a sturdy wall, as I share the latest from this ongoing battle for freedom! Image

Now, it's been a funny old afterbirth for Gamergate and its adjacent parties. Let's sketch out the playing field, together.

2014 / Matt Jarbo: Friend Of Poley The Polar Bear. Gamergate Patient Zero. This is where the horror began! False-flagged by autonomous herpes colony Zoe Quinn. Exposed for doing same, live on-air by GG LEGENDZ @ KILLSTREAM. His asshole remains slack, like a tugged-upon t-shirt collar, to this day.

2018 / Ethan Ralph: A Gunt Denied His Trashburger. Fallen GG icon and leader of KILLSTREAM. Thrown off Youtube, after donkey-faced mongoloid ape Yoree Koh @ WSJ reported his "HEALSTREAM" fundraiser featured lively Holocaust debate with disgraced BNP catamite. Donations refunded, cancer kids owned, and KILLSTREAM spiralling in exile. :[ In a drug-fuelled haze of dwindling viewership and flagging NEETbux, Ralph has angrily alienated himself - reaching a nadir in Portugal, where his already porcine visage was smashed to fuck by muggers, who then sold his expensive manpurse on ebay. :[

Image

Newly-convicted as a sex offender and revenge pornographer, with mind and body ravaged by a dire duo of opioids and Burger KANG, Ralph is now engaged in TOTAL INTERNET WAR against an array of former comrades - aided by his lone remaining ally, Nick Fuentes of MURICA FURST.

2022 / Nick Fuentes: And A Child Shall Lead Them Out Of The Closet. MURICA FURST chief and flaming dwarven mutt, desirous of Aryan ethnostate where he and his family are not machinegunned into a petrol-filled ditch. Facing lean times after salad days of Trump admin, with Burgerland politician PAUL GOZER and friends dropping the big DISAVOWAL HAMMER on his political aspirations.

With hooting scorn raining from all quarters, no fit state for the supreme leader of whiteness nor a hard-lovin' southern gent, Nick n' Ralph have hit upon an ingenious plan - one that will restore their shattered credibility, and stop the cyber bullies in their tracks:

False Flag Everybody Who Makes Fun Of You!
(w/ generous helping of dox and death/rape threats to womenfolk and children of)

As detailed above, the past decade has shown this to be an excellent and reliable tactic for winning friends and influencing public discourse - and one totally in line with GG's professed aims of free speech for all! Image

Tonight / Daddy Jim Helps Out His Boys: Beloved GG e-dad and ardent coffin-dodger Jimmy Metokur does Nick n' Ralph the great boon of agreeing to a "debate," re: the ethics of false flagging. With Jim raking in the NEETbux even as his life nears its end, Nick and Ralph are set for a one-two coup: non-AIDS viewer numbers, and final victory over their most feared enemy! You can't get more convincingly defeated than "died young of cancer."

EDIT: Oh, Nick. Image I hope getting mangled like a little Waukeshan white girl was worth it. What? That's an officially sanctioned America First™ comedy hit.

Image

To think they all said GG was a waste of time. This is grifting on par with the genre's most literary, the Bakkers and the Sharptons. In cultural impact, no, of course not. But in principle, that is, the utter abyssal void of anything resembling it: nectar, ambrosia, none more black.

Bravo. Five-star background noise. Image

OI CUNT (`w´メ)

SHOW MEH DEM SWEET SWEET TITTEHS (`w´メ)
How problematic! :O But ok, since you've been so nice. ;3

I forgot Ethan Ralph existed. I remember him marrying some British/Arabic chick. He got pretty lucky.
Then again, she's probably a citizen of the U S of A now, so maybe she did?

I never found Ethan Klein to be worth 2 cents. I hated his interviews. I have no idea what good content he had. Bill Burr upset him so much he had to to therapy.
I can't get over Ethan talking about how he would nick his balls, whilst shaving, to Bill. The look on his face was like "I'm not going to upset him this time... but it's tempting".

Gamergate failed. I still think it was the right thing to do, but it didn't work. It actually sped up the SJW-izing of the industry, since it just fueled the narrative
that all women and minorities were under attack by stinky straight white male gamers. They had to "DO BETTER", and fast.

So now, you can kinda see far left crap in almost all western gaming companies. Not all games, obviously, but you see it a lot. Every character looks like some ugly lesbian
or whatever. The Returnal chick blew my mind, when I first saw her.

They even got the Japanese censoring their games, in advance.

So, it was all for naught. I'm very happy to see Elon Musk buy Twitter. The usual types are all crying in their pillows, due to the horrendous threat of people talking about stuff
that they don't like. You can barely question any far left "truth", on any mass social platform, unless it's some right wing hell hole. What a world.

Yeah, it's so terrible that some people don't think it's cool to call Sarkeesian the c-word.

Just how much of a snowflake do you have to be. To be able to dish the worst dehumanizing shit out one's mouth, but crumble immediately at "that's not cool, go fuck off please."

"Far left" = "putting female characters into video games that don't give me a boner" lol just lol. What video games? I see nothing but horny stuff everywhere, even with nintendo's intentionally self-defeating censorship. This is war on christmas "i'm the real victim" nonsense. Imagine being so privileged and so uncontested that you have to make up shit to feel oppressed so you can get angry at SOMETHING, ANYTHING, and feel like you're still alive.

The real "far left", in the real world, historically has involved killing people in power: Like freakin' slavers. There is no far left in modern times. Domestic slavery remains legal under specified conditions. Currency will never be replaced with labor credits. Even cutting the work week down to 4 days is considered an absurd laughable joke to the public.

I think I saw Ed post "President Pence" here once and I laughed and laughed. I might have hallucinated this post or misread it, apologies if I did, since it can't be a real thing anyone paying attention believes. The right hates Pence and wants to hang the man to death for betraying their hero.

Imagine winning so much, controlling the entire world from dogcatcher to godking, and still being unhappy with your perfect utopia. Because some of your allies on tv who are paid to suppress the left and ensure capitalists always gain more money and power, pretend to not love you. Sheesh. What ungrateful teammates. Learn what kayfabe is, Macho Man's not really angry at the guy signing his paycheck.

I can't possibly imagine being this fuckin' miserable if all my dreams of fully automated luxury gay space communism came true. I'd be too busy eating ice cream and playing in the holodeck every day.

I guess that's the core difference between the left and right on the internet: the left is so used to losing for over 50 years straight now, none of us are that upset by it, it's just how things are. A doomed suicide cult. While the right can't stand that they're not universally fellated on television these days. Poor kids, feeling what 0.0000000000000000000000000000% of real losing actually feels like. Take mah empathy~

I know right! :O How can they call darling JUANITA-CHAN a con artist?! What she is, is a faith leader. You might as well get at Billy Graham (PBUH)! These people know what their flock wants and provide it - and if they don't provide, all is forgiven.

Why is the youtube algorithm constantly pushing clips from Johnny Depp's trial testimony packaged like it's the most entertaining shit in the world when it's actually a regular boring-ass trial?

Is this some MGTOW thing where they're parasocially self-identifying as Johnny Depp while identifying their exes as Amber Heard?

"You're technically free to say what you want; we'll simply clog every internet channel you have with shit and garbage if you say something we don't like" has been the modus operandi of justice warriors and free speech absolutists for the past two decades, possibly even before that. Reason being that if the moderation of the platform at hand is non-existent or incomprehensibly inconsistent beyond what's legally obligated--which in the case of most social media it most definitely is--people will simply take matters in their own hands to not have to share the same space with [insert group here].

All places that I've been to that pride themselves on being pro-free speech operate on the same principle; should someone with differing opinions enter such a place, the locals will refuse to approach them in good faith or any kind of seriousness, instead ridiculing, dogpiling, and even stalking them to the point where the foreigner is convinced this is all a waste of time and leaves, all while the moderators and admins turn a blind eye to what's happening. It's a good way of justifying oneself that they're respecting freedom of speech because they're technically not banning anyone for their opinions--the offenders in question just so happen to leave on their own!

Any sizeable community that plans on not imploding needs some kind of moderation. Those that pride themselves on being pro-free speech quickly find themselves hitting all kinds of practical problems that either make them abandon the pretense of supporting the principle, or add a buttload of asterisks to it while the worst apples run out most of the userbase. Either way the end result is the same in how it fosters echo chambers through either direct moderation or self-moderation, because as it turns out, upholding anything at all as some kind of morally objectively good dogma creates a lot of inflexibility in practice. When that is how any such pro-free speech space turns out, then that's what most such free speech activism ever amounts to: upholding the freedom to not be made feel shame or embarrassment for your opinions.

Y'all okay in here?

Twitter is mostly left leaning. But twitter has been canceled due to Elon Musk buying it so no need to fear, right wingers. People will definitely leave, this isn't just fake activism or anything.

Also noted hack Shaun King deleted his account the other day. He came back, quite possibly the next day, but it was all just very hilarious. His profile now reads "I'm still here m***********s" and his location is "rent free in your head". He pinned his giga ratiod terribad tweet. He has finally just snapped completely.

Is this some MGTOW thing where they're parasocially self-identifying as Johnny Depp while identifying their exes as Amber Heard?
Something like this. I've seen enough of it with real life relationships around me (not my own, thank goodness) that I sure don't need to watch this trial.

DeRay Mckesson is still my favorite BLM grifter. Dumb vest meme, immediately started hocking VISA cards. Whenever I want to be mad, I just think of him >_<

Liberation, equality and justice. As brought to you by a nice slice of our bank dictatorship.

At least that's better than hope and change as brought to you by Citigroup or going back to being great for Goldman Sachs. A little more variety in the flavors of boot leather.
