Watched some comparisons and those confirm both (SFA2 & SFA3) are best on the Saturn...if you put aside the PS2 ports that are straight emulation of the arcades indeed, bar the looks.
(PS1 ports are honourable, ok for playing just not the best overall)
lol Anthology has a HDD install option ?
SF Alpha 3, the only SF game I don't suck at!

I actually just noticed that the Saturn OP of SFA2 has completely different instrumentation...

Is it weird that I prefer Saturn's?

Yeah, the saturn port uses the internal sound chip instead of emulating the q-sound, that's why it sounds different, and the psx port has redbook audio.

Yep superb stuff those Saturn ports. Both edge out their Playstation peer (difference is bigger for SFA2 even). But Playstation ports are good for a fix still.
Saturn port of SFA3 is incredibly close to the arcade, with absolutely all of the animation frames in there thanks to the RAM cart. Besides the music, only thing different is an aspect ratio that's a bit wider (Playstation's is actually closer to the arcade in this regard) according to the vid below, but on a crt it shouldn't be noticeable
an incredible port, still worth it today. PS2 collection is an emulation of CPSII, as Xyga said

Watching that video again, and seeing someone responded to a comment I made there awhile back. This one guy, thinks the PSP version is the best version, the poor, poor sad little guy. So, so wrong.FinalBaton wrote:Yep superb stuff those Saturn ports. Both edge out their Playstation peer (difference is bigger for SFA2 even). But Playstation ports are good for a fix still.

He might be wrong about how alpha 3 max is very different gameplay wise from arcade alpha 3, but just look at how many characters they added for max. Deejay is one of my favs so it would interest me to learn alpha 3 version (always play st deejay btw). New port idea would be to figure out how to make alpha 3 max as arcade perfect as possible while also adding the new characters.Watching that video again, and seeing someone responded to a comment I made there awhile back. Dee Jay's in the arcade Alpha 3 Upper, though. Max only brought in Yun, Eagle & Maki (from CVS2), and Ingrid.
