Maybe we'll get to see a replay - I'll gladly accept his score then. As I said, around 27mill would be enough...
The same for me, and for all my documents about WR.

However in your score list there are some mistakes:

KETSUI [Ura Loop]
SPS - Type B - 537.619.747 (arcadia mistake, SPS play with type A only) correct score is: スガイSTG部@がん - 519.126.843

Strikers 45 plus
WC. / 邱俊圣 - Flying Pancake - 2.829.800 (this score is from a chinese player, not photo or video, is only writed on chinese forum) official WR is 前田 愛 2.778.600

Raiden Fighters 2

XRX-Ishihara - Beast Wing - 110.114.500 (this score not appear on gamest magazine) correct score is XRX-いしはらくん 110.020.200

Although I get 90% of my scores from Arcadia/Gamest I also use other sources. WC. is quite a well known chinese gamer with a reputation and some videos, that's why I added his score.
Thanks for the Ketsui mistake though!

It was in Gamest issue from March 1999.

Yee-hur. I move up 3 spots.
RFP 2,915,440 1-3 Ferious

Been a while since I played this so I look forward to grabbing the 3rd extend and reaching 1-4 shortly.

Edit: There we go, although my venture into 1-4 was short lived.

Code: Select all

RFP 3,708,740 1-4 Ferious

My score to game Cyvern:

DEL - 14,825,250 - 2-5 - Ferious

Image

I have not yet seen a Cyvern replay of any kind, so this is a a very uneducated score. The only plus is that I kept my medal chain from start to finish.
I only got 5 of the 100,000 medals. I'm pretty sure there are at least 5+ more.

Regs, DEL

Ps. If I can get to see a replay of this game, I'll give it another go.

Ah of course super-play.co.uk, I haven't had the internet for a while recently. Thanks Ruldra, it'll transform my scores and distance. So far I've watched 'til ST2-1 and there's a lot of tactics I never had a clue about. My stage 1 score should more than double and the Last Boss will no longer be a problem due to the large area of safe spots I never knew about, not to mention the simple 1 bomb way of getting past the sperm-rush.
EDIT:- Got a 15.88mil ST2-4 today, but its not worth posting as a 2-ALL from there would have been in the 19mil range :? .

My score to game Cyvern:

Image

DEL - 20,057,260 - 2-ALL - Ferious

I lost my medal chain once - on Stage 5, then somehow (don't know how :o ) kept it for the whole second loop. I milked the ST1 and ST2-1 Boss, not very well but enough to help me achieve my 20mil goal.
A scrappy run. I spent all of the 2nd loop just trying to stay alive.

29mil is not achievable from me. No way. Maybe 22mil at a real stretch after a long time....maybe

EDIT:- Rank still mystifies me on this game but NRK does at least show that suiciding does calm rank down. He has 4 more lives in the 1st loop due to higher scoring so he can afford to throw these lives away and make things easier for him. Whereas a lower scoring player like me has to deal with higher rank for longer due to not having the extra lives to calm things down.
So it can be said that the higher you score on Cyvern the easier the game is.

Thanks CIT, I wouldn't say 20mil is anything special really, I just applied the ST1 and ST2-1 leeching method I learnt from the NRK replay for 1.5mil extra. I'm also leeching the jet form of ST2 and ST2-2. Other than that my scores have been going up very slowly. The 2nd loop is a bit of a pig and there are 4 sections of it that can wipe me out, even with significant lives in stock.

My score to game Cyvern The Dragon Weapons:

DEL - 21,615,590 - 2-ALL - Ferious

This is an interim score. Its not good. I'm aiming at a 22.5mil or a 23mil.
There are things I didn't do on my live 2-ALL at the German Meet. I was playing for distance and not taking risks for score. I didn't suicide on ST2-1 to trigger the Green leeching train, hence the X7 lives going into the ST2-2 red tentacle Boss. I also didn't destroy all parts of the loop 1 & 2 Last Boss final forms and a few other things like not going for full destruction of all enemies. Lost my chain twice as well.
Here's the score pic from the Meet:

The live 2-ALL score is the 2nd one 20.07mil

New score:

DEL - 22,404,070 - 2-ALL - Serene (75% of WR) - no autofire

Lost my chain twice, but otherwise a good credit and close to my max attainable.
No autofire used at all. In fact I don't even use the C button, I just tap A.

Thanks CHI, but 22.85mil is about it from me on this game. All scores above 21mil are hard-earned. All scores above 23mil are squeeze. All scores above 27mil are a Biblical level of squeeze.
That last credit was a full medal chain run with good leeching of the Green Train Boss. For me there is literally nowhere to go. I could perhaps get better at my weakest point ->Stage 4 and 2-4 and squeeze more from there, but considering there are a number of other points where I could go wrong, like dropping my medals, messing up the green train or not laser-killing key Boss parts, then its not worth the large effort for so slim a chance at improvement.

CHI - There is a replay by NRK on super-play .co.uk. Its a 26.8mil and there is a 27mil top score on the board he plays on.

LUNardei mentioned that I comment on the action a lot as well, when I went to the Milan Meet (again with Plasmo).

CHI - As for replays from me. I'm afraid that chance was missed at the German Meet.

If he plays on MAME(as the pic looks like),scores aren't saved usually.
The way I read the pic is it was his 2nd run in this session.

Thanks for your reply Aguraki, but I'm afraid you're wrong, it wasn't his 2nd run in this session. It was his saved score from three and a half months earlier. Take a look at his score pic at the top of page 3 of this thread.
The point I'm making is that on your way up to a new World Record of 29.9mil you would play perhaps hundreds of credits, with many hard-earned milestones on the way - 22mil, 23mil, 24mil scores and so on. None of these hard earned scores are posted. 29.9mil is such a highly squeezed score that I doubt I could get that much even if the game had an invincibility mode  . This is not to say that its an impossible score of course, because a Japanese player has indeed got 29,837,260.

Oh and Thanks for the Congrats :)

Ah!Very true.
This is very odd indeed.
I'm one to think scores don't need verification usually(as there is very little incentive to cheat imo),but for a world record I'd expect a replay too.
Not "the" replay, but something close or around(Idk that game well but let's say 25M/26M run should be average when doing a ALL).
