Radirgy S
Re: Radirgy S
Finally!
Now the question: console or eXA ?
(whether KAI will celebrate or have a seizure depends on that information)

I sure hope it's exa to insure that no more than 10 people will ever play it!

Glad to know it isn't a new chaos field

Re: Radirgy S
Hopefully it's console.
Pretty sure most people who buy Exa for personal use will just get the kit with Aka to Blue and skip the majority rest (unless they re-release Cave stuff, etc.)

Great news for me as a milestone fan, i really wish they'd get illvelo etc onto steam.
Re: Radirgy S
What's with their obsession with Radirgy, grrr. Chaosfield! Chaosfield! Chaosfield!
Rage Pro, Rage Fury, Rage MAXX!
Re: Radirgy S
Expecting a new Chaos Field game is like expecting CAVE to release a Dangun Feveron sequel.
Not that Dangun Feveron is bad, quite the opposite. It's just not CAVE-ish, just like Chaos Field isn't really MileStone-ish.
Anyway, that's great news! Though I would like to wait to have more info before being too excited.

I would love that too! Especially if we properly get versions with all the bonus modes and stuff instead of barebones arcade ports as some of the home conversions are.poptart wrote:Great news for me as a milestone fan, i really wish they'd get illvelo etc onto steam.

Re: Radirgy S
you think they'll package it with all their other games again? I'm glad Milestone is coming out with another game though, they revived my dreamcast from the dead so many years ago. Illmatic Envelope on a platform aside from the Wii would be awesome too.

It's also on 360, Sakura Flamingo Archives disc.DialKnight wrote: Illmatic Envelope on a platform aside from the Wii would be awesome too.

How can I forget the Sakura Flamingo Archives and it's astronomical ebay prices?

What can we infer from this license crawling out of the grave and possibly back into arcades? All I know is if I see it, I'm dropping coins or buying it or however it will be made consumable.

Radirgy x Karous crossover game confirmed
Re: Radirgy S
What? Chaosfield is the technical definition of MileStone. It's not Dangun, it's DonPachi. (Because Radirgy is DoDonPachi.) It's just... "more" than the typical MileStone game, there's more to it overall, sometimes even a little too much.M.Knight wrote:Expecting a new Chaos Field game is like expecting CAVE to release a Dangun Feveron sequel.

Re: Radirgy S
There are some technical similarities yes. You have a focus on bullet-cancelling, and there is a sword. But that's about it.
Chaos Field's scoring is focused on chaining, something that isn't there in any of the other Milestone games, and because it's a boss rush it features none of the caravan inspirations that the later games will have. And there's not even a rechargeable bomb (even though the field switch can act as a pseudo bomb). Not to mention the lack of cell-shading. Playing Chaos Field does absolutely not feel the same as when you are playing Radirgy, Karous or Illvelo. Some of the ideas and features will be kept in the future games but Radirgy-onwards is still a big departure from Chaos Field.
In any case, my main point is that just like Dangun, it's pretty clear that the company and the devs have taken a specific road in regards with the design and style of their shmups, and that they are not very likely to get away from it despite having made a game that plays differently. It's not surprising for example that the 3DS games were focused on the cell-shaded games and not Chaos Field at all and it only seems logical that their comeback game is part of the Radirgy series.

Re: Radirgy S
Calling it now, it's not actually a game, just an online storefront selling Radirgy-themed figurines, cosplay gear and hug pillows.
