Korea 2 Germany 0

Even with a few minutes to go I didn't think they'd fuck it up like this :o

Well played from Korea against a ... lousy ... german team ( germany sucked in every game).

Korea got the revanche for their loss against germany 2002. Congratulation.

It´s not the first time germany had more than one really bad game, but often they reached the finals despite
not being the best team or playing football for the eyes ( see 1982 - Gijon vs. Austria, Algeria/ 1986 Denmark, Uruquay , 2002 - some luck).

Well - as a german with lousy black humor I say:

Brazil - we got you - no rematch for you after 2014   Please wait for another four years.
( no offense meant to all brazilian shmup-fans here).

Time for a new, hungry and younger german team for the future.

At least germany is not in bad company ( Italy 2010, Spain 2014 ).

Now for real, fucking hell Germany.
Did not expect this at all, even if they didn't seem to be at their best.

But most of all, big congratulations to Sweden -- they were in a very tough group but managed to pass on to the knockout phase in 1st of all things!

A World Cup full of surprises.

Also the mysterious disembodied arm on Maradona's left shoulder, making the guy to his rear right look like an exasperated Reed Richards.

The 3-0 defeat of Mexico VS Sweden is a punch to the gut, kick in the groin and slap to the face after having stopped Germany, which defeated Sweden. Seems like a rock-paper-scissors deal here. And considering their next game is against Brazil... yup, it's going to be a massacre. -__-

Mexico looked like a team that got fat and happy thinking they were already through.

Yup. If, for whatever reason Brazil doesn't shred Mexico in the next game, they'd end up facing really strong teams (historically speaking): Argentina, France, Croatia...

oh man, just got to see Germany v. S. Korea
and good lord, Germany didn't deserve that

Strong German offense that was unfortunately held back by a really good Korean defense. There were a bunch of shots that probably should have gone in for Germany, and it was just poor luck more than anything keeping it out of the net.
Great match, but that ending just fucking hurts.

Love that Maradona reaction, watched it live and my God the camera team were quick to change cameras, but not quick enough thankfully

We're playing Switzerland though! Not sure about our team, always feel like a crapshoot when we play... our games are always an emotional rollercoaster because they can truly go either way, every game (just compare our play vs Germany and vs Mexico, abyssmal and pretty good). Still, escited for the KO round!

Messi's goal is my favorite goal of the tourney so far. Pure class.

Squeaking past with a 0-1 loss? Ah, England is through to the bargaining stage. :3

Then again with how this thing has gone, I wouldn't be surprised if they dodge the traditional upcoming BTFO for a bit.

Abaolutely fantastic match. Great goals for both sides, a great fighting spirit from Argentina even losing by 4-2 all the way to the very end.

Damn, I stepped away for 5 minutes after France tied the game, and when I came back they were winning by 2.

Argentina finally redeemed themselves from the lackluster performance on the group stage, even though they didn't make it to the quarter finals.
