Was Mulholland Drive uncensored at the Retrospective? I know he blurred the nipple shots for the home releases to make sure they'd never end up online. Love that movie, Naomi Watts' character's audition scene is amazing. What a performance.

Yep. I just checked now.tv. Episodes 3 and 4 are up. I remember reading that Sky were going to make the available immediately after the first two aired.

I guess it's a couple of weeks wait for episode 5.

Fire Walk With Me is fucking amazing; it may be my favorite thing in Lynch's filmography.

Fire Walk With Me

Probably his most underrated, and for a lot of reasons, I consider one of his strongest. Note I only saw Mulholland Drive recently... and it was for sure not edited. Bless Naomi Watt's heart.

Things Fire walk with Me has going for it:
-Score / sound is top notch. He really outdid himself setting the ambiance... can make daylight scenes freaky as fuck. On that note...
-Daylight scenes that are freaky as fuck. Remember the parking lot scene in Mulholland Drive? Lots of that
-All around weirdness
-David Bowie / Chris Isaac / Keifer Sutherland / Harry Dean Stanton / The Man from Another Place [all cameos but strong]

Things that work and don't work for it at the same time:
-It's not the campy side of Twin Peaks -- through and through. Very little humor, and what's there isn't the same as the series. It's Lynch film, not Lynch TV.
-A small fraction of the original cast
-No Laura Flynn Boyle. Pretty sure she was no longer casting a shadow when this filmed. They got a different actress. She was nothing special but whatevs.

Things that work against it:
-Some of the lines fall pretty cheesy. It is a love story still... just a weird one.

I just watched all four episodes. Was crying around the end, it was so good. Fucking beautiful/epic.

4 episodes in and now I'm surprised by what I want this show to be. There were a few articles about this leading up to the premier and I guess I've got to let go of some of this stuff.

episode 3 had some amazing sequences, but I still can get over the poor visual effects. I guess they aren't supposed to look "real" but they have a 2D look about them like some bad compositing from the mid 90's. I liked Coop on top of the box amongst the stars, the big ocean, all very uneasy. But at the same time I'm constantly reminded of how cheap it looks. Some artist love what they can do with digital images. I guess Lynch does to.

I want Cooper to remember himself already, this can't take the whole damn series can it? I want him to help solve a murder, but maybe I'm an idiot for wanting this.


Everything else is great. Love Cole and Albert. Bobby Briggs as a cop. Great reaction when he saw the photo of Laura Palmer. Still find Lucy and Andy a bit trying to watch - who remembers little Nicky from season 2...

I have a fear that because Lynch has been set loose with a budget to make as many hours as he wants nothing is getting cut. Obviously this is good and bad. Give me more weird stuff like getting the keys to that room with the body in it, but cut out the meandering Coop. Drink the damn coffee and get back to the Great Northern.

twin peaks always had a mixture of normality and high weirdness but this new series seems like just high weirdness so far. only the scenes with lucy and andy gave me the same feel.still got no 4 to watch tho.

- Beginning of episode 3 was so good holy shit

- I'm not his biggest fan but Michael Cera was perfect as Andy and Lucy's kid

- Cooper better be a good way towards 'normal' after drinking that coffee. I need my Coop fix.

- While I love the new direction I'm still gonna get pissed as fuck if there isn't more Twin Peaks melodrama and Cooper drinking lots of coffee and investigating stuff in TP. With 18 episodes I'm sure there will be some of it. I love the darker crazier stuff but IMO it hits harder when you have the cosy stuff as well. It did hit you really hard as an opening to the new series but I don't think I'd like 18 straight episodes of it.

- Also on that note, I want more mysterious woods, get some of that Douglas fir smell in there

- Ending songs at the Roadhouse are great, Chromatics were magical but I loved Au Revoir Simone too. I've seen them live, they're a really fun act with a lot of energy for just being three girls with synths. Annie Hart looks exactly like an ex which is kinda weird though.

Finally got my wife to join me for the first episode of season 3 tonight. I loved it, she's hesitant so far. I guess I'm more accepting of fresh story lines outside of the town (not including James' adventures in season 2).

The cop that went "Uh-Oh" two times was funny.
Cooper knocking out the doorkeeper the second time was funny.
Can't wait to know more about the two Sheriff Trumans.

old Twin Peaks..can watch it and give it break for 25 years with zero issue except the final Episod 22..cant stop watching it again and again
and i always say there wont be somthing similar at all..
