So if i make the PC jump where to start what to do?

Post by 2dvertical »

I have been out of this since MAME..I dunno which version, most recent rom at the time was espgaluda i think. I dont like to bootleg, i want to support devs.

I really missed out on all the dreamcast and previous pc stuff, is steam the go to way to play now? Are most windows shmups etc on there? I hated dikin around with mame, is there a go to PC route for shmupers? Do you foresee steam as having and continue getting shmups in the long run? I know nothing about steam.. I pretty much have all shmups one can get on a jp 360, a few ps2 imports, and whatever has been on psn/xbl jp/usa, but thats about it and I feel like I am missing out on a lot.

Btw, i am done with pre 1990 shmups so i could care less about those..

Hi.
I would get some games from Steam. There is plenty of great Shmups on Steam and the library grows every month.
I have a TATE list I'm updating with the games I buy and that I have confirmed working in TATE, found here http://www.gamecorner.se/tag/tate-list/
For horizontal Shmups there is a lot as well but since I can't play them in my cab I don't track them.

The tag you need to search is actually Shoot'em Up. Save for a few out-of-place Metal Slugs here and there, it's all shmups.
Though, I suggest you wait for a sale. There's literally no reason to buy a PC game full-price, they're that common.
For example, Mecha Ritz: Steel Rondo is on sale. hint hint, nudge nudge.

Today we're supposed to get some sales for Easter, wait just a few hours.
EDIT: Actually no, I was making that up, there's no Easter sale or anything like that. I'm sorry for getting anyone's hopes up, I guess.

Had some downtime due to errors on server, it's up and running again. Here is a direct link to latest version http://www.gamecorner.se/2017/04/07/tate-steam-v-1-32/

For retail shmups, yes.

Go to the Steam store page. Find the search box. Type "SHMUP". Press Enter.

You can thank me later.
