Hi, Hydorah, Typhoon, Ghosts 'n Demons codes, anyone help?

Post by zeusdaz »

Hi everyone, first of all please forgive me if the following request is posted on the wrong section,...I'm new here as of today

I cannot seem to find a contact email to ask the programmers of the following PC fan made shmups to let them know I'm planning to do a couple of "let's play" reviews of their games and ask them for any cheat codes so I can review the games further.
I have a youtube channel dedicated to games being played/reviewed all in UNemulated form (ZEUSDAZ), I'll post my channel on the Youtube feed of these forums.
I've reviewed and playtested many games in development for programmers but I don't know how else to contact the people involved in the below games.
So, can anyone locate (if any) any cheat codes to bring up a cheat/test menu or invincibility/lives for the following:

HYDORAH v1.1 (Invincible / infy lives).
GHOSTS 'N DEMONS v1.72 (Invincible / level select).
TYPHOON (Tempest Clone...invincible or infy zaps cheat).

If anyone can give me any codes I will happily shout you out on the "let's play" video when they are recorded.

Thank you very much!

Spoiler
git gud
Seriously just record how you play even if it means not getting far, isn't this what let's plays(wtf is even let's play review?) are about? just playing the game how an average player would, without some obscure cheat codes that probably don't even exist.

Yeah, I'd just do reviews of games I knew inside out or could at least 1cc.
You're just adding to the pile with nothing worthwhile otherwise.

Get good at the games and then do the reviews in a few months time, your videos will be 10 times better. You can speak with authority and give the viewer much more helpful information.

Um.. Are you sure you should be reviewing these games if you're going to be using cheats to get through them?

Arcade-style games are designed first and foremost to be a challenge. If that's undermined, then the game falls apart. How can you accurately judge the merits of these games without experiencing how difficult they're supposed to be?

If that means trying and failing repeatedly, well that's just how it goes.

I'm a reviewer myself, have been for several years, and it's not easy. However, you're doing both your viewers and yourself a disservice by relying on cheats.

This sounds alarmingly like it'll be the GOOWANG walkthrough all over again.

Or ASIAN FIGHTING 2

Cheat codes for level skipping or invulnerability are useful for the development of a game, or even for messing about with a game when you're specifically looking for bugs. But if you're going to be doing a review of the game, you shouldn't be using these to get a feel for the game. At best I'd say a level skip code would be okay if you want to get footage of later stages quickly, but posting a video review of the game using an invulnerability cheat is a terrible, terrible idea because people will see and notice that and wonder what the heck is going on (and if people are visibly getting hit and not dying, it'll give a bad impression of how the game actually plays).

Cor blimey god all mighty!!!
I don't plan to do a "let's play" with the friggin' cheats on, I just need them to check much further into the games to get an idea.
I never use cheats in review vids because it would look obvious and give a false idea of what the game really plays like,...I ain't that dim!!!
I only use cheats on longplays to show a game in It's entirity to help gamers get an idea of what the later stages are and how to get passed a certain point they are stuck on,...very much like this longplay of Project ZX (a spoof ZX Spectrum game) which I was involved in as seen on the end credits:

Please people, I'm not asking for a response like a headmaster telling off his student, I don't need to be lectured, I just want help for the request I have placed :(

Well you've come to the wrong place, to be honest.
Google would be a better place to start, the cheat engine forums, contacting the devs directly.

We're shmup fans who play for score. Even continuing is seen as a cardinal sin, nevermind cheating :D

None of us are going to have cheat codes to hand.

Longplays like this are sometimes awful because while the video might show the "full game", it's being played atrociously in a way skilled players never would play. Case in point, this Progear run where the player fails to do even basic gem scoring (WARNING: SOUND IS ATROCIOUS QUALITY): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOUxSbUg0Mo

Seriously, by the Stage 2 boss you should have triple the score that run has, even if you are scoring only modestly and don't trigger the stage 1 gem vacuum. There are published 2-ALL runs of Progear that look much better and are more informative.
I just want help for the request I have placed

Judging by your MUSHA walkthrough(or whatever it is) I'm pretty sure your videos will help absolutely no one to beat even the first boss.
Spoiler
And i though my MUSHA 1cc was too worthless for youtube...
