Lethal League (is fun as hell)

played this Steam game for the first time last weekend and had a blast. it's essentially Pong covered in a pseudo-fighting game skin, so it's easy to pick up and play, it's got a cool visual style with lots of references to 90s-era games, and it has a pretty damn good soundtrack.

the ball picks up speed each time it's hit, upping the ante every time someone manages to connect. battles can reach Dragon Ball Z-levels of earth-shattering epicness. four-player matches are absolutely awesome for parties.

...of course, this may all be old news to you; I only heard of it the other day. apparently "high-level" play is a possibility with this as well, tho I've grown to loathe that term (and everything that goes along with it) and would much rather enjoy it as a fun party game.

I dunno how much it is, but I give it the seal of approval. especially if you've got a couch of buddies to play with.
