So, funny story: I'm an indie developer, and I love finding communities dedicated to shmups. I stumbled upon this badass forum this morning.
My company actually made a little shmup called Close Order, where the goal is to build yourself up into a badass armada! (Think TacScan, but modern and on drugs!). It's a combination of lots of genres: bullet hell, tower defense (but on the move!), shmup, arcade/shooter... it's honestly really weird, but I LOVE it!
