Low profile joysticks

Post by mojo »

Hi. I have an old Hori fighting stick that is rather flat. Even with the original mounting points removed a Sanwa JLF is a few millimetres too tall, and an LS-32 is way too tall.

I'm looking for a stick with a very low profile under the mounting plate, so that it will fit in this stick. I'd say it needs to be no more than about 30mm from the mounting plate to the bottom of the stick. I checked the Sanwa and Seimitsu catalogues but they all seem to be too tall as far as I can tell. Does anyone know of any suitable sticks?

Use the HORI shaft in the JLF if the shaft's the problem.

Mine is an older stick for the Saturn, with only 3 buttons. It must be lower than that one. It was only 500 yen but still, a nice stick if it could be modded.

I'll have a dig and see if I can find the Hori shaft... I might have discarded it to make the stick fit in my suitcase a bit easier. That would be ideal if it works.
