'Lazy Susans' for our CRTs

Do you guys know what I mean? Any of you guys use a turntable or a swivel base for your CRTs? Setting up my new BVM and since its on the heavy side I'd feel bad keep having to arc my CRT over and over. Not sure if they even exist to accomodate the deep footprint form factor of this CRT. Unfortunately, my current room setup calls for this; the TV is on a table next to my PC - if I lay in bed, gaming is fine for me dead-on in the center, but if a friend comes over to play some games, I need the open floor and have to move it toward us. If i'm being too meticulous just tell me to keep moving it with elbow grease, I'll understand

The picture I'm getting out of this thing is unreal - I feel guilty to play games, I feel like I need to take it out for a steak beforehand haha. Cheers.

A cheap way to do it would be two smooth pieces of wood or covered particle board. Stacked on each other they should be able to rotate pretty easily.

A lazy Susan would work but I don't have any clue where you buy one.

Lazy susan is just a name you associate with any smallish hand rotated flat platform. Plenty on ebay. I think the name derives from those turn-able round tables you put on dining tables.

The name is because that's what they're called, I've just never seen one for sale in any store.

The link you sent for a rotating yoko/tate mount is something else entirely, and also something I'd thought about making, albeit more simply using this design:

My consumer Trinitron is on a swivel stand, but it's maybe 20-ish degrees in either direction, not a full spin-around. I would think it's enough for anyone though, and looks especially good with the matching consumer set.

Not enough if you want to be able to service it without removing it from a shelf / cabinet, though. Seems necessary for some really big CRTs.

The cart (seen in the HDM-3830 discussion) / endoscopy style carts might be a good idea in some cases.

Ur right. I didnt read op properly. Completely missed out the the BVM part. I've never found a good way to tate my bvms. So I just ended up having 4 of them. Perhaps two lazy suzans mounted on both ends for support? It would certainly make the overall dimensions massive though.

Thank you all for the suggestions! Einzelherz, I think i'm going to give your suggestion a try with the two sheets of level wood. I'll post my findings if I get around to it this weekend. Time for the anal retentive adjusting of the many adjustment pots with the help of 240p test suite.

And yeah once my collection and knowledge grows of shooters, I'll prob also leave a crt just in tate position just out of convenience.
