PVM's out the wazoo, and they'll let you test them at your leisure.
This place just sent me an email saying they are moving and having a big sale on inventory.

Damn, they were already practically giving away PVM's (I bought my latest one for $35). So I'm guessing the remaining 40 or so will go to recycling.

Unless some of you guys organize some sort of group-buy and maybe have them ship pallets out to a few different states.

I dont live near them either. I had sent them a message about pvm parts. they never got back to me.

you didnt pay much for your pvm bazookaben. Thats a good price.

It would be better if they listed some prices on their website though.
they have all their monitors listed but no prices.

I just called up and said "I'll give you $35 for a PVM, and I want to try a few out first" and they said "sure".

Since they're in kind of a remote location, they hardly ever see anybody interested in the monitors.

If they actually work well that would be a great price. The BVM in the picture though looks pretty questionable. That is some pretty bad tilt. I decided to risk it and ordered one. I asked him not to send me the one in the picture and he was perfectly cool with picking out another good conditioned one for me. I guess we will see how it goes. The 14F5U is definitely one of the greatest small standard definition CRT's ever made. Last time I last had one it shit all over the other small PVM models in picture quality, including the 14L5 and 14M4U.
I am no longer taking free or paid modding projects, please do not contact me asking for my services. Thanks :).

yep, that's what I was looking for on eBay myself when I spotted those.

I love my 14" BVM but wish I had a 20".

Huh apparently my eyes didn't catch on the BVM-20F1U, so it's my lost with obtaining the A20F1 (for now, I know a BKM-68x is just sitting around someone's closet).

You still interested in parting with your PVM 20L5? Let me know?

Right now in California $5 bid at the moment

Pgm2950 - 31khz only is what I've read but I'd totally buy it if I lived right there. It looks just like my pvm2530, I like those aesthetics. Probably would rock for mame

That monitor is a dream. It's native resolution is VGA 640x480 so it would do line doubled 320x240 exactly 2:1. It's the 800x600 models don't scale properly.

Too bad they don't ship. I don't know how I would tell my wife "hey I'll be back in 3 days for a giant old TV"

ive wondered also how I could justify such a trip, driving 2 hours to Chicago for a monitor was hard enough to coordinate. I wonder if many people are following this thread anyway? Search(at this time) ikegami on public surplus and there's s number of monitors with rgb/component in New Mexico

I think somebody would want this.

its a 32" NEC RGB monitor.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEC-Video-Monit ... XQdGJRyj5g

not my auction. Id like it but shipping would make it not such a deal.

It looks to be late 80s or early 90s judging by that rgb connector.

Nice. Anyone know if there is any resources or places I should be looking for in the North East area? I am right near NYC, NJ, PA etc.

I'd fill my apartment with monitors if I had the chance.

Just the usual - Craigslist, eBay, and the surplus sites.

I tried contacting local TV stations here but they had switched over to LCD years ago.

I'm still hunting for my white whale, a PVM-20L5.

just figured id mention that on that last site there is a lot of 4 brand new 27" JVC I'art tvs from 2006 in florida.

these tvs give an awesome picture and they are also have component. some also have higher line counts like 600 or 800.

There's an auction near me that includes one of these: http://datasheet.octopart.com/NL221FS-N ... -67170.pdf

Never heard of the brand. Any idea whether it's worth going for?

the best that those monitors can do is S-Video. Id look for something with rgb.

they are also 500 lines which is similar to most consumer sdtvs.

I actually got a PVM-20L2 from this guy a few days ago. I just happened to search at the right time and snagged it pretty quickly. I wasn't interested in the BVM due to the size. I've been searching for PVMs in Arkansas for a while. I pretty much never see anything, especially 19/20 inch models or bigger.

Only thing really wrong with the PVM was some discoloration in a couple of corners. Currently waiting for a degausing wand to come in to try to fix it.
