And I'm still searching for an elusive PVM-20L5.
I actually got a PVM-20L2 from this guy a few days ago. I just happened to search at the right time and snagged it pretty quickly. I wasn't interested in the BVM due to the size. I've been searching for PVMs in Arkansas for a while. I pretty much never see anything, especially 19/20 inch models or bigger.

Only thing really wrong with the PVM was some discoloration in a couple of corners. Currently waiting for a degausing wand to come in to try to fix it.
Nice. How far was it for you? I did a five hour round trip to Conway last year for a 14L5. I love it, but I'd like something larger.

A little less than 4 hour round trip.
I think we might've both gotten a 14L5 from the same guy, the only other time I've seen a PVM in Arkansas. My 14L5 was from a guy in Conway that was somewhat buff and not really the nerdy looking type :P. I think he had 1 or 2 more left after I got mine back then.

Dude you're in LA, they have a bunch of pro monitors over there.
Check craigslist or even on ebay. With ebay just contact the seller and ask him for an off site deal.
Just a little looking around should yield results.

Just doing a quick search I found this on craigslist

https://losangeles.craigslist.org/lgb/e ... 01076.html

way over priced for that monitor but if you can talk him down to $80 then I would go for it.
Still over priced but maybe just how the market is now.

Sounds like him. He bought an AV auction from the LR school system.

No european hunters around?
I'm on the tip of the continent (Portugal) and it has been really tough to find anything.

I already have a PVM 14L4 which i bought from a private video producer, but 20 inchers are an effin' mirage in this country.
I tried emailing every media company and broadcast equipment reseller i could find with no luck.

I even tried making some deals in Spain with no luck as well.

Have you tried medical equipment resellers? That's where I got my PVM's in the states.

For two months now there's a Sony BVM-2011P listed on eBay classifieds right in my neighbourhood (Munich, Germany) for a very reasonable 150 EUR. I would pick it up in a hearbeat if I didn't have two 20" BVMs already, but anybody in driving range should seriously consider it!

A bit offtopic but how does that model compare to the 20D1U/E?

150 is an effin' bargain

the 2011 has analogue geometry/convergence controls versus the complete digital chassis of the later models. In terms of quality the 2011 is just as good.

Fagin got a YT review of the 2010p online at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdnC1mx7E0U

So what is the best BVM that outputs native 240p, 480i and 480p?

D-series, since it has an analogue RGB input board by default. A-series is missing it by default.

I never have luck finding these in Canada (Toronto area), especially the good ones. I was excited to see a 20L5 for $100 pop up and e-mailed the guy within 5 minutes of the ad being up...he said he got about 5 emails before mine.

Meanwhile people sell worse models on ebay for a few hundred.

Two Commodore monitors in Québec (Shawinigan) for $40 each (or $70 for both).
http://www.kijiji.ca/v-tvs/shawinigan/e ... nFlag=true

Supposedly those are pretty nice?
I've read a couple times that those are sharper than consumer sets, but I can't corroborate that as I have never seen one in person

These accept S-Video through two rca plugs

Not the deal of the century but... hey it's still kinda cheap for a good gaming CRT.
And they seem to be in good shape.

Ah, the 1702 monitor. You'll need an adapter for s-video, but mind that it's mono sound and doesn't support RGB.

I had a 1702 years ago, they're very nice monitors but you're better off with a PVM.

Yeah I figured that they were a bit below a nice PVM. Maybe somewhere between a good consumer set and a nice PVM?

They are native 15kHz shadow mask though, and this is bound to please some people's taste

Also this is not for me: I'm just sharing for other peoples

The spanish seller came through!

BVM-20F1E with 40k hours.
Did a quick test during lunch, and the SNES already looks ace.
Was a bit of a risk having it sent from spain, but the seller really took care of it well.
Nice packaging and fragile stickers up the wazoo.

Im stoked.

The Exton IN1508 is a high-end scaler/switcher capable of RGB, composite, and S-video scaling. Other Extron scalers would be good for line doubling. Then you have a variety of other switchers; Extron A/V switchers are commercial grade switchers, good for connecting lots of different sources like consoles. The MVX in particular is an excellent high-grade VGA switcher. Then you have some VGA distribution amplifiers for sending a VGA signal lossless to multiple monitors. There's one of these in there, which is a beast for distributing RGB: http://www.extron.com/product/product.aspx?id=562 And the transcoders do things like decode s-video to composite and vice-vera. The Crestons give you network control and multimedia interface.

If there's high demand for those and no one else can travel there, I guess I could try getting them for you guys.

xm29 do appear on ebay from time to time but they usually want too much money for large professional crts.

anything over 20" is usually too much.

Found something for people in the New Hampshire

http://nh.craigslist.org/zip/5573903774.html

Never heard of the Net brand before and I'm uncertain if it does 240p but it does feature rgb inputs via a vga connection.
Could be a decent cheap pick up if you want a large rgb monitor.

Certainly, but I wouldn't expect the RGB input to accept 15khz signals. It's likely just for 31khz and higher.

This a "noname" China CRT, but quite similar to my first 31khz back in the early 00s.
