Ringo Deathstarr's 'Pure Mood' getting a lot of play atm. Can't remember where I was directed to these guys, but really enjoying this. Very reminiscent of the UK's 90's shoegaze stuff, but with more energy and bigger riffs. If My Bloody Valentine wrote shorter, rockier songs basically.

Back on a Planes Mistaken For Stars trip while I wait for the new album to drop. Love Mercy, but Up In Them Guts will always be my favourite. Just hope the new one is anywhere near as good.

Great dark synth album.
The first track would be right at home in a sidescrolling platformer. I'm digging this, thanks!

bird seed by whitehouse. what a fucking classic! I'd still rate seeing whitehouse perform wriggle like a fucking eel as one of the best experiences of my life.

been spamming the blood brothers and the locust after having seen head wound city live. daughters too since I plan on buying tickets to see them in Brooklyn, NY in a reunion show in October. I've seen them twice live which was incredible and never thought I'd see them again. the midget drummer was blowing coke off his cymbal, hilarious handlebar mustache bassist, drunk singer slopping against the crowd, pretty boy guitarist and lanky tallm'n guitarist looping on their loopstations like crazy.

fuck... some of their content is so good.

blood brothers - fucking's greatest hits live (some douche with a camera messed up the song)
blood brothers - love rhymes with hideous carwreck
the locust - recycable body fluids in human form live
the locust - listen, the mighty ear is here
daughters - crotch buffet
daughters - the hit
a creature... half solid half gas

If my mood is for more faster, straightfoward music:
THE POGUES

That's my soundtrack for the last couple of days

Had to post this. His other works sound amazing as well, reminds me of Hiroyuki Sawano's non-rap tracks. Way to go Finland. :D

The 2 albums I last listened to in full are totally different in scope. Fuzzed out indie semi-folk-rock album Lonely Twin by Hospital Ships.Something about this just works well, and isn't so crappy as Bright Eyes. The other, the reissue of Boys Life - Departures And Landfalls. Emo Math Rock stuff that just works so well. Can't believe to this day they recorded it entirely live in studio.

Making my way through "elseq 1-5". autechre's new five-part ep series. So far I've only listened to the first ep, but I already like it much more than Exai. Lots of pen expers-y sentimentality on these, ymmv. I think curvcaten is one of their best tracks in fact.

Really want to get in to this but the lack of physical release is vexing. At least there's an Analordy New Aphex album coming out soon.

Right now - Listening to lots of Jpop and postpunk records I picked up from Japan and had shipped from Japan.

Really enjoying the Tomo Akikawabaya compilation on Minimal Wave.

Loads of French coldwave and PC98 OSTs at work.

New Nails is a bit of a guilty pleasure (the band themselves are pretty cringeworthy)

Really enjoying the recent videogame soundtrack on vinyl thing. Outrun out this Saturday, Bare Knuckle 3, Lagrange Point, Gun Frontier etc hopefully by the and of the year.

Curious why you say that. I've watched people gush about this band for years and I've given them a few spins but I never thought all that highly of them.
Feedback will set you free.

Semente by Sinistro, on the recommendation of a friend.

All I can say is WOW.

Dreamy doom metal you'd expect from a film soundtrack. This is absolutely my bag.

Personally I really like them musically. No nonsense C standard power chord chugging hardcore at stupid speeds. The production is a lot chunkier than a lot of grindy stuff too.

A bunch of people I know, myself included are still surprised by how big they've gotten. I guess the hardcore riffs and clarity of production allowed them to stand out.

As people, so I have been reliably informed, they're... not cool. Also one of the songs in their new album is about how much Isis and terrorism sucks, which is the worst theme for a hardcore track ever.

Fuckin' THE SCHEME soundtrack.
FM+PSG+PCM masterpiece out of YM2608, always blows me away when I decide to pop it on. Yuzo Koshiro really damn had it going.

Ah yes, a classic! Perpetual Dark is a title that'll always get my ears pricking up on people's playlists / Best Ofs.

Great soundtrack. Super Shinobi meets Ys I & II vibes...
