Sega CD Rail Shooters....
Well, I done got me an X'EYE on gametz.com last night, and I love rail shooters. The only two Sega CD rail shooters that I know of are Sewer Shark and Star Blade. (Please note that by rail shooter, I mean shooters where your person/vehicle is controlled for you and you just move around a cross-hair and shoot things.) How about Cobra Command; would that meet this definition? Any others on the Sega CD that would? I do know that both Lethal Enforcers got Sega CD releases, but I don't know if you can just move the cursor around with a D-Pad or if you have to have some kind of light gun.

Cobra Command is a great game. Its pretty much a "strict" rail...meaning that you mostly control the target reticle. However, during some intense parts of the game, you will have to react and steer your helicopter.
Why not try some other type games of this style?
I also reccomend Road Avenger...its just too cool!! Its inspired by every car "race n' chase" film you can remember. (heavily soaked with Mad max style stuff)

Cool, thanks guys!
You don't control the plane in Afterburner III?
How's Tomcat Alley?
I found this excellent Sega CD database, although it is incomplete:

Sewer Shark sux IMO.
But Cobra Command is really great. I had lots of fun with it.
Lethal Enforcers II is also very enjoyable. For some reason, the Sega CD version seemed to play much better with a D-Pad than the Mega-Drive one. The only problem is that there is ONE section of the game that's just impossible to get past with a D-pad unless you get real lucky (It's the duel against 3 guys, if anyone is curious)
