I was out shopping with my gf today and found this comforter set in a home decor store. I about crapped myself when I saw it. Couldn't resist buying one! Anyone ever seen something like this before? They only had a couple sets. The grey has the pattern through it too.

Now we're entering UK Resistance territory with posts about fabric and furniture that vaguely resemble video game iconography.

The only bed cooler than one with rocketship sheets is one that looks like a hollowed out OutRun car.

I thought it bore a strong resemblance to shmup iconography. Apparently not.

It's like a quilt that goes over a bed.

The one in the OP is a relatively old (19th century) pattern which is called houndstooth. Usually it is not used floating around like that though.

I got it at Home Sense here in Canada. $120. Never seen anything quite like it. Gf isn't sold on it yet though.
@ ptoing: Ah! I didn't extrapolate the pattern! Never seen it presented like that though. I've seen hounstooth stuff before, but only in a tight pattern.

What is this? A bed for ANTS??
hahah couldn't resist. It just looks small because of all the pillows on it.

Totally does! And yet it's the perfect compromise if your partner would object to shmup sheets, since it could be viewed as just an abstract design. Nice find!

Another good compromise would be to have normal sheets like an actual adult.

It uses normal sheets. That's just the comforter and decorative pillows that go on top. You put normal sheets underneath.

OMG I Found a Dodonpachi scarf:
Look closely, hidden bees! (not the gold ones, but the faint ones on the white and blue parts)

That was my first thought, but the pattern groups them together more like an armada on the move. I managed to convince my gf to keep it for a summer comforter too. Fits our décor and I think it's pretty neat myself.

This thread will be prosecuted to the full extent of the jam for illegal use of Napoleon iconography, beware.
No joking, I'd appreciate some bed blanket/doona/comforter reminding me of shmups, even if not wanted by developpers.
