Deathsmiles MBL v1.1?
Deathsmiles MBL v1.1?
So, the only was to play this version of the game is to pick up one of the collector's editions? Strangely, it isn't available as DLC, even though I was able to snag Mushihimesama Futari Black Label as DLC with a Japanese Xbox on American XBL.

You have to have a Japanese XBL account and use Japanese XBL points. But it is available, and once you download it you can use it with your domestic account (on the same Xbox).

That mode is available on disc in the US and EU release of Deathsmiles.

I guess that the platinum release of the japanese version also has it on disc.Bonus! wrote:That mode is available on disc in the US and EU release of Deathsmiles.
I remember EOJ saying that the most accurate to the arcade was the japanese one, cause the american version was like in forward mode and the european is in he middle of the two.

The original Japanese print of DeathSmiles includes 3 modes: White Label Arcade, White Label 360 and White Label ver 1.1Phellan Wolf wrote:I guess that the platinum release of the japanese version also has it on disc.Bonus! wrote:That mode is available on disc in the US and EU release of Deathsmiles.

The first Japanese MBL DLC component adds two more modes: Mega Black Label Arcade and Mega Black Label 360
The second Japanese MBL DLC component adds one final mode: Mega Black Label ver 1.1
The Japanese Platinum Hits release includes the original 3 modes and the first MBL DLC component on disc (for 5 modes total). The second DLC component still needs to be bought online to add the 6th mode.
The US and EU discs include all 6 modes on disc. The US version was initially overclocked and was missing a lot of slowdown. This was later patched to make it fairly close to the Japanese original. The EU version was kept close to the Japanese version from the start in terms of slowdown.

What Kikin said. That's how to make a post!
The EU release, of course, also included the wonky soundtrack disk, replaced for free by Rising Star. I think that little feature was a PAL exclusive!

Whew, I was going to say, there is the one achievement for MBL 1.1 which would've made it impossible. Is there a simpler way to set all that up? I remember reading that buying Japanese MS points from play-Asia was the easiest way, still true?CStarFlare wrote:You have to have a Japanese XBL account and use Japanese XBL points. Play Asia or ebay works well. Just make sure they send the code, not the card.
Re: Deathsmiles MBL v1.1?
SO even if I create an alternate, japanese profile, using a different email address (on the same Xbox), the DLC from the japanese profile will be available on the American profile?

I've read that faq as well brent, but unless I missed it, it doesn't specifically state that a DLC from a Japanese account on a seperate profile can be utilized on the same system as an American account on an US profile is what I was wondering. Basically, I don't want to get the DLC if I have to switch to my JP profile to play it, thus, always having that one achievement locked to the JP profile only.brentsg wrote:http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=23501

You can use any DLC on any profile as long as it's the Xbox it was purchased on. If you use a different Xbox then it needs to be on the same profile it was purchased on.

Yay! But.......what do I do now that JP XBL has converted to monetary amounts as well? Like MBL 1.1 costs 310 yen now, so would buying points from PA still work?brentsg wrote:You can use any DLC on any profile as long as it's the Xbox it was purchased on. Re: Deathsmiles MBL v1.1?
Chances are you would not be buying a point card, but rather a JP XBLA Yen card. You redeem it on your JP account and it'll give you the corresponding amount of Yen. If they still have the old XBLA Point cards in stock, then when you redeem the card it should immediately convert the value to Yen.Quantium wrote:Yay!
