ps2 hdd modules/ remote control issues

Post by notabot71 »

I have:

-SCPH-50001 softmodded w/ free mcboot incl. usual assortment of elfs (opl, sms, ule, etc.) on memory card
-1TB SATA internal HD connecting thru modified network adapter
-official Sony DVD remote control
-Logitech Harmony 700 remote control w/ correct ps2 profile loaded

if i power up everything without free mcboot mem card installed straight to sony browser, everything is normal. i can power on, reset and power off w/ reset button on machine, dvd remote, or my logitech universal.

if i power up with free mcboot installed and use it without invoking hdd modules (just browsing menus, etc.), again everything is good. normal operation for power functions for reset button and all remotes.

if i power up with free mcboot installed and invoke hdd modules (opl hdd games, ule hddmanager, browse to hdd0) then the only way to operate power functions is through the reset button on the machine itself or by selecting something like 'power off' from a menu on screen (like opl, ule). neither the sony remote nor my logitech universal will reset or power down the ps2. upon holding down either one, the green light on the reset button flashes once and then nothing happens.

admittedly, this may be the lamest of all first-world problems. but it is baffling. and it's the only fly in the ointment that i've discovered using this setup. everything else is just glorious.

anyone got any ideas about the cause of this or how i might work around it?
