Modifying PSP so screen actually TATEs for vert shmups

I am wondering if anyone has ever thought of this idea: Could it be possible to somehow create a viable setup to modify a PSP by opening it up, removing part of the cover, and having the screen actually be rotated vertically in order to properly play vertical shmups in TATE mode the way they were intended? That way, you wouldn't have to hold the PSP vertically in an awkward way to play.

Ben Heck would probably do it for a laugh. For practical purposes, however, not so much. You could probably extend the ribbon (I think. It's been a while since I've had one open) cables, but that would be a lot of work for a small selection of games.

I did this once on a widescreen laptop and holy shit I will never do that again. Too much plastic.

I would just get a 3000 and run video out to a TV. That way you can hold it any way you want while TATEing.
