Made by the same guys who did Gunhound (and Gunhound EX), plus Hyakutaro Tsukumo still doing the music.

Xbone fans will be butt hurt more than they were before.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Cool, but why does it need to be on PS4? There's nothing that's pushing the hardware, and the PS3 and Vita are much wider and more established markets. Did they get moneyhats from Sony?

Looks to be completely independant. Maybe they just want to make it on that hardware, it's about time we got some proper oldschool games that aren't handheld junk.

Goku Mamaimura invites you to burn in hell for your statement.

But Leynos from Dracue: cool. Very curious what it's going to look like.

What's shown so far doesn't exactly scream PS4, but would look good as a PS3/PC title. OTOH I'm optimistic that the trailer will get blown away by the end release version.

If Tsukumo is doing BGM for Dracue again, that shows they're serious about this project. ASL should be at least on par with Gunhound EX.

Hope the next trailer will be in 720p.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

But, there's like one scene in that trailer that shows something at all and that is of an ugly(?) ship being shot down.
Or am I missing some media?

That's the only media I've seen that seems to be in game footage. Needs work but they have my attention.

Since the action looks like it's going to be a lot closer compared to the space the small sprites of the original provided, I'm thinking this one may have the same mission objectives of the original but different level design along with slightly different control. It will be interesting to see what liberties they take with this remake.

Under the rocking music, something still seems off about it, and the graphical quality has barely improved from the teaser. I don't think it's going to top Leynos 2.

Looks like it might be intended as a complete remake of Leynos 1 after all.

Agh, 240p widescreen. Once the action started this began looking really good. Dracue is as well positioned as anybody to make this work!

Maybe because it's PC-based hardware and easier to develop for.

EDIT: I take that back upon watching the video. If they're going to make it for a 400-dollar system, they should make it look better than a PS2 game.

The 3D effect on sprites looked a bit silly at first, but the sprites (what I can make out, that is) look pretty good and detailed here. Maybe there could be more stuff happening onscreen, or...not. It's an action game after all.

Leynos 1's vast and mercilessly unpredictable battlefields with Valken/Leynos 2's more articulate controls would be lovely. Haven't been following this too closely but will be on it for sure if it turns out well.

Don't care about the GFX (PS2 = SHAWEEET imo), but would like it to retain the Yagawa-style advent calendar choc explosions of the MD game, where nothing explodes the same way twice. Will it be a cute little pop or a maiming gout of flame and shrap? Who knows? The random number generator, that's who.

Valken 1 and Leynos 2 still look great, and the graphics are a not-insignificant part of their appeal.

Is it known whether Namco's Finest Hour was a direct influence on the Leynos/Valken games? It predated the original Leynos by a year, and the aiming controls, boost jumping and weighty physics are remarkably similar.

but the thing is that you say that as if these "ps2 graphics" aren't pretty good, and this is from a 240p video

Was Leynos 2 the SNES game? Is it better than the first?

Leynos 2 is a Saturn game. 2 is better than 1 IMO.

The SNES game is Cybernator (aka SFC Assault Suits Valken - you know, like Christopher).

One of many reasons I love the genre. Gameplay takes precedent.

Needs local competitive 2 player à la Metal Warriors. Herzog Zwei remake out of the way, it's the most reboot-worthy local vs hailing from 16-bit consoles.

Air Mech is basically a remake of Herzog Zwei.
