This is a case i would say 3D is definitely better. Great, almost real rendering (currently they have to cover up a few glitches at the post shader makeup stage), believable AI with a wide range of personalities complete with dynamic rank that depends on the day of the month and phase of the moon, many prefab customized meshes to choose from, comes with *unlimited outfits (*limited by how deep your pocket is), 100% physically interactive without the need for occulus rift or tenga.

And can actually make you a sandwich. no sammich no sell.

I found this site through looking up Icycalm, since he's became sort of infamous in certain corners of the internet, and after finding out he came from here, I have to thank you all for giving the rest of the Internet this wonderful lolcow. Has there been any update on this?

I haven't actively looked for information about the guy, but from casual glances at his early posts and reviews he seemed like a normal well-spoken guy (albeit suffering from unwarranted self importance to a degree). It seems like it was right before his ban from here that he suddenly went off the deep end. Again, I don't know much about the guy's history so I'm probably missing something here; I also have no clue when his criminal activities started, so...

As an aside, I'm surprised the guy doesn't have his own Encyclopedia Dramatica page yet.

Already it can't be like Duke Nukem Forever. The game failed to meet expectations, but it wasn't "complete shit". Unfortunate that the internet says that about it.

ED seems to hate the Jews, and is extremely racist (seriously, who writes that page? "LOLocoaust"????), so a page for him might work out. But they may like him somewhat.

I still can't figure out if it's written by man-children, or actual teens.

From what I heard the previous admins were trying to lead the page into a somewhat more mature direction, which ticked off almost all of ED's users (unsurprisingly). They then jumped ship and just closed the site, but someone ressurected it on the spot.

Basically ED should have never been thought up in the first place.

Icycalm may be an unrepentant racist, but he has repeatedly shown himself to have admiration for the Jewish race and the Israeli government, though not in ways most Jews would endorse.

I used to semi-active at that place back in my edgy teen years, haven't been there in a very long time. Most of the people there were teens, and the racism was done as a joke. Not like that's a good thing, but that's how it was. There's been pages written on actual, legitimate racists like Hal Turner. I don't know if it's still like that now.

I was there for that. Basically the head admin wanted to get more money out of the site, and ED wasn't exactly ad friendly due to the content, so she pulled the site without warning and made a Know Your Meme knock-off in its place. The site came back because someone else had a mirror saved or something.

I am writing to let you know that I have fully assumed all administrative duties for Insomnia, including forum moderation, and look forward to discharging those duties with great diligence in order to allow icy to focus on content, and deliver on his promise of one new article or review a day. With the imminent completion of the Videogame Culture and Videogame Art projects, and all the various activities of The Cult, both on- and offline, the site is entering a new era of growth that I am sure we are all very excited about. The next step, icy's campaign to personally contact all the world's most prominent game developers, in order to bring to their attention his completed work, will take things to the next level, and firmly install Insomnia in the collective consciousness of anyone who matters in the industry as the artform's leading publication, and the only one worth following with any degree of regularity; gaming's Cahiers du cinéma, if you will. I can't wait to see it all happen, and I am committed to working hard to ensure all aspects of the site work smoothly and effectively to accommodate the coming growth and expansion. On the forum front, which is of most interest to readers, I plan to be a lot more patient with people than icy ever was, simply because I have the time to be (this, after all, is my job). I am already reviewing all banned accounts to see which of these could be salvaged, and which people are willing to return and contribute to the combined effort. A few are unredeemable, but many were just collateral damage in icy's neverending war against trolls and simpletons (which did end to a large degree, actually, after the introduction of the subscription model, and praise be to that), so if you fall into this camp expect an email from me in the coming weeks, or better yet get in touch with me first, if you don't want to wait until then. But above all, keep an eye on that frontpage, and prepare to be blown away, on a regular basis, with all the cool stuff we have coming up!
