I have Xcapture-1 with 2 PC : the 1st with W10 and the 2nd with W11.

I have follow this instruction https://thethrillness.blogspot.com/2015 ... eview.html and all my PC have the 100% CPU bug.
When I delete the thrillnes's drivers, the bug is always here.
When I replace the original drivers (1.1.0.178.0), the bug is always here.

Why do you use those unofficial drivers? I thought those are intended to use with USB3HDCAP card, not the official Xcapture-1

I encountered crackling sound in two situations:
1. Using a non-Renesas USB
2. Running at a higher resolution than my laptop at the time could keep up with. I had to cap out at 720p until I upgraded.

Can you confirm both?

So I have a pretty high end laptop:

Strix Scar G15 2022
64 GB of RAM
4TB of space
Nvidia 3060
AMD Ryzen as well

Normally I'm at 720 but the capture for my PS4 does default to 1080p same with my Switch. My USB I may have to check

Unsure how to confirm Remesas USB. Currently not home at the moment to confirm

If I remember correctly I was digging way down into the Windows XP-looking system explorer that shows the low-level connections, and right clicking on USB things' Properties in order to find out what the chipset was.

I don't think it does, because it doesn't tell us exactly who made the chipset. If you go to the XCAPTURE-1 docs they will tell you it has to be Renesas, blahblahblah. I was getting serious performance hitches and audio pops on my old laptop until I connected through a Renesas-branded USB. Again, I don't remember how I got to figuring out the manufacturer but I believe it was via the Device Manager and digging way deep.

What do I do if the USB slots are not Renesas?

I went and found one that plugged into my laptop's ExpressCard slot. I believe this is the one that I got: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002X ... UTF8&psc=1

...it specifically had a Renesas chipset.

My other questions to you would be: is this recent, as in something changed to cause it? Can you confirm if crackling happens at lower res capture? Any chance it's a bad HDMI cable?

I can check the HDMI cables when I get home to be safe to switch around first before lowering the res to be safe. Idk if those will fit in my laptop but when I get home I'll double check everything

I bought that thing back in 2015 for a 2010-era laptop. And I don't think laptops today even have ExpressCard slots. I'd try the other things before jumping into new hardware.

So a couple of things i noticed:

at 1080p it does some crackling. but when i adjust it to 720p everything i honk dory. I'm checking all my cables and they are fairly new and taken care of for the most part. I don't understand why it would crackle in 1080p when a good majority of my games have been in 1080p for the most part..

Well, at least your experience matches mine. For me it cleared up when I used another USB interface, and that happened to include the recommended Renesas-made USB chipset. Presumably there's a bottleneck on data transfer or something that other chipsets aren't handling as well.

That may also be a clue, unfortunately. I was doing everything off of Windows 10. Do you have access to a Win10 machine that you could test?

(I have a Startech USB3HDCAP, so not exactly the same device but the same chipset more or less), and I get some slight distortion at 1080p60 inputs, but if I set it to 720p then it works fine. Did you ever use 1080p60 with it before or just recently? I use a laptop but the card is plugged into an externally powered USB3 hub, so I never really figured out the problem neither, its very strange.

i did also notice this as well when i was looking in the driver events:

Driver Management has concluded the process to add Service CY3014.X64 for Device Instance ID USB\VID_1164&PID_F531\6&1E83B41D&0&4 with the following status: 0. what does this mean?

so yeah i did double check everything and it feels like the capture card is either running its course or something. Everything is fine so far i can see the video but when it comes to the audio its not holding up in 1080p like it should audio wise but if i put it in 720p its mostly fine. i even uninstalled and reinstalled up to the current driver and the audio is still crackling. even went to my other laptop too.

So it's been a bit but I did replace my capture card for a new xcapture 1 and it's still giving that static a bit at 1080p it's not too bad but I may change my HDMI cables to be safe. I did notice too when I looked at my log for OBS and I hit the max buffering which is affecting my xcapture a bit. I did want to ask if anyone knows about the codecs file is for since micomsoft did push an update for the card with the codecs? Still looking for help if anyone can offer.

I resolved my issue I had last time but a new one has started to appear, similarly to other posts in this thread a very audible and quite annoying crackling / popping sound occurs when plugging in any more modern consoles. I've tried messing with resolutions and framerates and the sound still persists. It happens if I plug in a Playstation 4+, Steam Deck or Switch. I'm on the most recent driver provided by Micomsoft and I've tried different cables. I have a whole new computer now which is faster than last time but the crackling noise issue occurs between both computers.

Does anyone have any advice? Pretty bummed about this because I don't really want to get a second capture card just for 1080p60fps sources.
