Awesome stuff you've just bought.

Good pics, like the cab-level views of the "equipe de course" trailer truck, also nice to see what B&D styling was like years ago.

That cast aluminum hedge trimmer is made by McGraw Edison.
It is from 1966-ish as per this newspaper clipping.

Here's the real racecar:

1983 sponsored open wheel racing car driven back in the 80's by Jacques Villeneuve Sr. (uncle of Jacques and brother of the late Gilles Villeneuve).

Bit of history. http://thegarageblog.com/garage/canadia ... ouncement/

Canadian Tire has been involved with Canadians in racing since the late Sixties, so the racing history runs deep. Back in the mid Eighties, Jacques Villeneuve Sr. spent a few years racing Indy cars and was fully supported by none other than Canadian Tire. It was fitting then that they dragged the Canadian tire branded 1983 March out of the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame for the day.

This car was driven by Uncle Jacques Villeneuve at Long Beach in 1983 and then qualified for the Indy 500. Then, while attempting to improve his time with the sister car, Villeneuve crashed and was not allowed to race. The car again qualified at Milwaukee and it was Indy all over again. Jacques drove the car again at Elkhart Lake before it was replaced by an 84. The last time it was used was as a pit stop competition car in Las Vegas. Sort of fitting given how today’s press conference began! I wonder if the PR types actually knew this when they planned the event. Most likely not!

Nobody tell Rob79, but recently threw out some old '70s spice tins (the McCormick brand ones, though they have a different name back then). I thought somebody might want them but didn't want to hoard and eBay wasn't revealing any sign one was a real treasure.

Spice tins ? Not as desireable as automotive related tins.

You haven't seen this:

Two working class dudes, one black one white, just baked a tray of ten cookies together.

An oligarch walks in and grabs nine cookies for himself.

Then he says to the white dude "Watch out for that black dude, he wants a piece of your cookie!"

That makes me feel better. Actually, the vintage motor tins here look somewhat older than that...any guesses as to the age of the three leftmost tins?

You know, I can't help but look at these rusty cans of fluid and worry that your place is a superfund (well, whatever the Canadian equivalent is) site in the making. Nostalgic stuff all the same, and the turntable is nice. Good ol' Panny.

Had a decent day at estate sales today. Managed to find a few things.
Found some first production redline hot wheels from 1968-68 and a Matchbox Lesney.
Most are worth $20-$100 on ebay. I paid $3.00 each.
Here's the cars:

Matchbox Lesney Zephyr - Green

Found 3 records. Paid $1.00 each
Found 3 vintage automotive tins (full). Paid $0.25 each
Box of TDK blank cassettes - Paid $5.00

see pics

I like that Boombox, I have vague memories of having something similar growing up. The toy catalogue is amazing!

Do you find the electronics in such amazing condition, or are you cleaning them up yourself?
