Actually, this wouldn't surprise me at all. I suspect it may be why Etrian Odyssey IV is getting a UK release when II and III didn't. Publishers aren't going to touch something that can be imported for less than typical local RRP, especially when there's no language barrier.

And theeeeeen no publisher is going to touch it 'cus punters can just import it. Not saying region locking is a good thing, but there is the potential that it's made things a lot more attractive to local publishers who are sick of seeing their niche published Japanese game flop because everyone who would have bought it has bought it anyway.

Personally I like to walk into a shop and buy stuff, supporting a local economy and top quality localisation.
