So uh... how are Triangle Service's games?

My experience:

they're interesting in the amount of secrets they cram into them (special events triggered by killing enemies in specific ways or quickly), and they have a pretty nice 'classic' feel to their bullet patterns. The secrets are what I'd call one of the two defining traits of Tri-Service games. The other being...

They all involve medal chaining, aside from XII Stag (as I understand - I haven't played XII Stag yet), so if you don't like Raizing's medal fetish, these games' scoring might not do anything for you. GStream's medal chaining is brutal to the point where I don't seriously expect they were thinking of keeping up a game-long chain.

Since they are all primarily done by one person, they don't have the amount of polish on them you'd find in a Cave game or a G.Rev game, but they can be fun.

I love medalling, but watching videos of them they don't look too great :\ I didn't even see any bullets onscreen, though maybe that was just the recording.

The videos around are horribad. I'd advise giving it a spin in MAME (a recent version like Shmupmame 4.2).

The medalling is definitely pretty unforgiving at first glance but careful positioning/shooting and killing enemies to drop medals safely is the key. Also the void bomb is very handy which you need to kill enemies close to gather particles for.

The posters are pretty damn awesome. They look to me like a throwback to the credits screen in Raiden Fighters JET where you saw the various large enemies in the blue background during the staff roll.

EDIT: I also noticed this picture:


So it looks like we're able to do Score Attack runs on each stage (XII Stag's PS2 port didn't have this) and switch player sides if we want, which actually does make a difference in both games.

It also looks like they may have used the unused warp picture for the 'Arcade Mode' picture of DeltaZeal but I can't tell for certain. Considering the ship appeared in the title screen in the video, this port is probably based on (assuming they exist) the newer revision of G-Stream no one seems to have/know about.

for the more economical cost of distribution. If so, you can go to your local print-shop and go nuts.

It is likely that this and Saidaioujou will be arriving in the same package for me ... the smaller case is going to lose its shrink wrap first.

Given how small TriService is (lol very small), I think it behooves them to do so, to maximize sales, much like Qute.

But I don't know business.

I received a reply to the same question. However, I also asked them whether DeltaZeal will be the same game as G-Stream, or if it will have changes and additions. This is what they said:

ΔZEALとGSTREAMはほぼ同じゲームです。GSTREAMは意図せず世に出たもので、
ΔZEALはGSTREAMより開発が進んでいるバージョンです。

So they're claiming that DeltaZeal is a new game that happens to be "based on" G-Stream, rather than a mere port. I'm expecting some pretty significant alterations to stages and boss patterns, maybe even new enemies and a new stage or two. These would be very welcome, considering the rushed and unfinished nature of the original game (in its MAME incarnation, at least).
