Don't get me wrong though... I've bought everything they've done, even double dipped in some cases! I'm a total sucker for dreamcast shmups...

Pre-ordered with VGI, so guessing a week or two later.
Love those T-Shirts they do for NG Dev & Hucast.

This is sweet...

I purchased them all (I literally have like 5 different versions of Dux/Re) I guess when I buy a game made by less than three or four people who don't have unlimited funds, I'm not expecting a reinvention of the wheel. I'm expecting a passable game that'll hold my interest for a little while and allow myself to fire up the DC again. All great? No. But Gunlord, Fast Striker, Neo were all fun. I liked Dux and thought ReDux was a little unnecessary and the last stage was tacked on/way more difficult than any of the other game levels. Little hiccups and problems spread across all the titles but again, for a team that small working on ancient hardware, I cut them some slack and just try to enjoy what they provide. If I want perfection and polished complexity, there are plenty of games made by far bigger teams/budgets already out there. I'm not going to get bent out of shape over an indie game if it's not OMG EPIC.

None of these are Hucast games either.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

Yes, I know, thanks. My point was that both NGD and Hucast are the constant focus of insults and people who build the games up so much in their heads after long delays that they are almost always met with constant bitching/ridicule when they are released. Seeing as both guys work with each other (and are brothers), I lumped the games in together. One company or two, the general vibe is the same in regards to how they get treated pre and post game release. My initial point still stands. They're trying to support a genre that we all enjoy and I'm happy to throw a few bucks towards that cause. Always great? No. Some questionable decision making from time to time? Sure. But again, it's two guys, doing what they can. If the alternative is not having anything, I'll take my chances.

Oh yeah, also tempted.

It was a commissioned piece, work done by a Parisian artist, Oskunk.
I did check back a few months ago & I couldn't find it - sold now, no doubt.

That artwork looks like some long-headed humanoid creature putting its hands on the "ship's" hull.

Yeah I thought the superplay was going to be done as part of the testing process but apparently it can't be done until October for whatever reason.

A few more months isn't a huge deal but it would've been nice to know before release day!

You did notice that the CE bundle contains a "Superplay DVD" right? So how do you get superplays for a previously unreleased game? You can't!

So if "early/release access" is important to you cough up for a regular copy (which of course is out of stock right now).

(And even with a month delay it would still take a more than "top-notch" player to deliver a somewhat decent superplay. I wouldn't expect a "definitive" superplay to surface for about one or two years - provided "high-ranking" players are even going to bother with this title.)

They don't. I've ordered from them a bunch, they usually go out the day before release date. I've never gotten a separate "shipped" email. I contacted Rene last week, he said shipping would begin this Monday. You'll probably start seeing them trickling in over the next few weeks depending on where they were shipping to. I'm in the States, I recall it taking about 2 weeks for all the Dux stuff to arrive (as well as the NGD stuff).

Edward unfortunately has to suffer one of the slowest (and likely expensive) delivery pipelines ...

If you keep 2+ year old emails around look for a confirmation email from sales@hucast.com - that's the "from" address on my Ghostblade order confirmation from April 2013.

Spoke with Rene via Instagram today, the CE is indeed delayed due to the superplay, standard and LE's are still shipping on time. Kind of a bummer for the CE buyers but hopefully the package/superplay will be enough of a reward for your patience.

I'm just stoked that A - there is a new DC game, and B - I will be able to discuss it with people in person.
You're sure to be in a fine haze about now, but don't think too hard about all of this. Just go out and kill a few beasts. It's for your own good. You know, it's just what hunters do! You'll get used to it.

Good news, there will probably surface some nasty, game breaking bug the coming days so they can put the 1.5 version straight in the then even more delayed CE .
I hate those loose discs that get send out later .

My only fear (which I've had since the new trailer and now mentioned in the comments below the review) is that the game will be too easy. I was hoping this would have a bit more punch to it in terms of difficulty. That review seemed pretty positive overall though :)
