Bringing this up made me look into Bob Saget's death since it's been some time. Looks like it definitely wasn't a walk and die thing - a skull fracture was involved. In a hotel room.

It's not a good advertisement for benzodiazepines..

Your skull can't expand, so any hard hit to the head needs careful monitoring for cerebral contusion.
This happened to my friend Mark. He was out drinking and fell over and whacked his head on a step, but he was like "I'm fine, no prob." Went to his GFs house and fell asleep on the couch and in the morning she woke up to find him dead. I can't remember anymore, but he wasn't older than 35, I think more like 33.

Always get it checked out

Yep! Unmistakable controlled intensity. The OVA's a great watch. I've meant to try out the manga for ages. It's easy to assume it was part of the Top Gun craze, but it actually dates back to '79. Still very much part of the later Cold War zeitgeist, though. Funny that it's mostly known to we STG fans for the SFC game, when the IP predates even the FC, and is more of Space Invaders and Galaxian's time.

The "UN Squadron" moniker is darkly amusing, given the series is about a ruthless mercenary company the protagonist was shanghaied into... maybe it was a dig from someone at Capcom's localisation team, haha.
Oh wow, nowadays I know him as one of the villains in Policenauts.

Monte Cazazza died June 30th. The originator of "Industrial" music; as he said "industrial music for industrial people," and Throbbing Gristle took it from there.

"Natural Causes". Oh well, silly me. Thinking that natural causes is normally 95 not 55.

Nobody really dies of "natural causes", there's always a specific organ failure or something. Cancer sure is "natural", eh..

In this case I'd guess a blood clot, if they're being honest... That's one of the most reliable ways to check out quick with no warning...

Man, I remember reading this one obituary of a guy (no one famous, but the son of someone rich I knew) which ridiculously made a blatant effort to not mention the fact that he died of a drug overdose.

I guess I always imaged "natural causes" to mean "not by murder, suicide or misadventure." Although I have reckoned some drug OD deaths that were erroneously labeled as natural.

People are just so damn morbid though. Myself included. Whenever I hear of a death the first thing I go to is "how did it happen." It's disgusting

She did survive cancer about 10 years ago, so it could be that. But the press is making it sound like it was suicide unfortunately. "Mental health battles" and "after battling depression following the death of her son," etc, etc.

Very sad. She had an angelic voice

Time marches on huh. ;-;7 Only ever knew the Playhouse show, as a kid - ignorant of the movies and his wider comedy career until adulthood, ironically long after the fapping scandal - but holy fuck, what an impression that show's art design and stagesets made; particularly nestled on those bootlegged-from-satellite VHS tapes full of comfily well-worn Disney and Warner Bros stuff. Still looks amazing now.

Hell yeah. Playhouse is absofukkenlutely iconic. Also the starting point for both Lawrence Fishburn and Phil Hartman (post SCTV, pre SNL) :). Also, his cameo in Cheech and Chong's Nice Dreams is hilarious, and his role in Mystery Men is too.

Also British pro wrestler Adrian Street on the same day as Paul Reubens. Street would wrestle the territories, and he came to the deep south and wrestled for Mid South Wrestling when I was a child, was a great flamboyant heel.

Ah, I've a Welsh sister-in-law whose old man told me about him; real hometown hero, was regarded as tough as hell well into his old age (this was like fifteen years back). Pretty innovative gimmick for a hardass Welsh coal-miner... I know there were pretty boy heels going way back, but he was Goldust via Ziggy Stardust like two decades early.

This famous photo of him with his pops always made me smile; he looks like his dad's Stand.

Was a huge fan of Pee Wee's Playhouse. Still entertaining today.

Angus Cloud, who played the kindhearted drug dealer, Fezco, on Euphoria has passed away at the age of 25.

The internet famous and very grompy rescue kitten Tater Tot sadly passed away suddenly yesterday, from what's believed to be an enlargened heart. It's not entirely certain because he was still too small for any tests to be run.

Image

He wore those casts because his front legs were bent at a 90-degree angle when they found him, so they needed correction. He got to be free of them for a bit, at least.

Rest in peace, li'l guy.

Helluva long run in classic crime film+TV, he had! Hector is almost certainly his signature role, deservedly so *dingdingding* but I like to think of him as the ruthless assassin dude from Scarface who prompts Tony to demonstrate he don' break his balls for nobody pendejo! *BLAOW*

More recently re-discovered him while revisiting Aronofsky's Pi, I know I saw it BITD when it was blowing up all the papers but totally blanked on Margolis. Great film! Has a bit of that controlledly seething Tetsuo fury, not to associate them too closely, you won't see any mechanised bumming devices in Pi! At least I don't recall any!
