A wonderful example of how television shapes everything anyone knows. Any boomer that wasn't well-off knew multiple people who died in that meat blender. Their approval of all the parties responsible should be a big fat 0%, but here we are.

Even I didn't think Hillary Clinton was all that bad... right up until the first 2016 primary debate and she made sloppy kissy noises toward Kissinger. Lying about being able to enforce a "no fly zone" without also needing "boots on the ground" fundamentally broke something in me, forever. Guess I never had to take a hard look at democrats, until there was an alternative to voting in favor of the banks and more war all the time. Just accepted that we as a species were shit and doomed.

Their legacy will be in the final mop ups, resulting in near complete worldwide hegemony of their empire.

Totally. Though I wouldn't underestimate the power of Nixon-cum-Regan's religious strategies. I can't tell you how many died-in-wool 1980s southern baptists I know who swear by every word and don't examine a single one. And Hilary bleh bleh bleh bleh. I knew the dems were doomed the second they put her smarmy ass on the ticket. It's spooky how they feel like these people are their friends, much moreso than anyone else in their lives. Such one-sided parasocial relationships with imaginary people that only exist in their heads. It's one thing to gloom onto a fictional character, another altogether to start imposing your fantasy as a basis for how reality should be shaped.
