ok i picked this up for £5 so i'm not complaining, and it5 isn't at all bad, but it just seems all very meh. i'm not refering to the shoddy art or the missing cut scenes etc, but the core gameplay and patterns. plus the boss art for the end of stage sections sucks. why dudes in cubes???
just wondering what the general opinions are to see if it's really worth investing major time into.

I find the first one darker, stranger, and more difficult than Shikigami no Shiro II. (And harder to see because XS Games did not include tate in MLF2, but did in their localization of Shiki II. I'm looking to get a Japanese version of Shiki I because MLF2 looks a bit crap on my tv without tate.)
I love this series to death, and have nothing bad to say about it. Though I expect you will find the second entry more accessible (not the dialogue-- that is impenetrable).
