1-7 boss is an asshole.
GJ chum!

I was just working on the 1-7 boss and can give some advice.

For its opener, start at the top right of the screen when the screen flashes and it appears. Move down, kill off the pods, and dodge the spray attack on the left side (it seems to be lighter). The direction of the spin attacks is random but if one is going the wrong direction you can slip through it pretty easily at the top of the screen.

I always get killed because I'm moving while it fires the wide streaming attack, I get walled and can't move into one of the lanes :( 1-7 is a douche of you don't do things just right.
Thanks for the advice.

Thanksfully the stage portion of 1-7 is quite simple as long as you have the big enemies memorized (I wrote down notes for them )

Oh, hey, it's my yearly reason to show up on this forum. Time to show off my crappy score that I likely won't top by the end of the week. Yaaaay!

the chaining isn't really a big deal unless you get a 2-all. Then I think it factors partly into clear bonus.

End game bonuses are 100k for each life, 50k for each bomb, and 10k for each power up you have on you. Max 780k bonus total.

Are there any differences between Strikers 1999 and Strikers 1945 III? I have the PCB of the later, and would rather not mod it to JPN region.

This game is hard as hell. I wish I could enjoy it more, because it seems like a pretty good game, but it's just way too hard for me :?

surprisingly, they took that out in this. that feature is in gunbird 2, where chain is everything even without it (coin values are 2000->2200->2500->3000->4000 there iirc).

This will not be a good week. This is one of these games where I can't seem to consistently improve no matter what, along with the rest of the Strikers trilogy and RayCrisis.

Max chain of 01 this time :-S I can get a chain of 8 normally, but I seem to score better by just concentrating on survival...

EDIT

Mx7 - 817,700 - 1-8 - X-36 - ShmupMAME2.2

Probably should start recording my runs. Died with a bomb in stock trying to do the safespot on the last(ish) boss -____-
