I'm gonna say Progear is the easiest Cave game. Try that one.

ESPGaluda seems to have a reputation of being Cave's easiest to clear. Scoring's a whole different beast, though.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

I see, I think I'll go with Progear.
And what about an easy arcade 1cc that's also fun?

Thunderforce AC can be 1CCed with your eyes closed.

EDIT: Im assuming that by 'arcade' you mean 'not Cave'.

ESPGaluda is, as Valgar said, BY FAR, the easiest cave game to one credit (and "legitimately" as well, since it doesn't have a loop). Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. :)

Espgaluda is certainly the easiest one I have played, but unlike some here I don't regard the game as easy simpliciter or too easy. If you don't try to memorize, if you just take things as they come, then the game can get quite hard.

Espgaluda is easy if you are just playing through for an ALL. If you are going for a high score, then it becomes quite a difficult exercise.

Mmm, now I'm hesitating between the two again

Anyway by arcade I mean arcade and not console.

Just pick ESPGaluda. The first guy who said Progear is out of his mind.

Hehe, I just found Progear to not be so difficult. I guess it just depends on the person playing. ESPGaluda is pretty easy as well. Just go with what you might think looks more fun.

Arcadia's list of "Easy Shooting" circa 2000:

1)Arbalester (Seta, 1989, tate)
2)1943 (Capcom, 1987, tate)
3)Genshijima (?)
4)Sky Smasher (Nihon System, 1990, tate)
5)Thunder Cross (Konami, 1988, yoko)
6)Area 88 (Capcom, 1989, yoko)
7)Fantasy Zone (Sega, 1985, yoko)
8)Life Force (Konami, 1986, yoko)
9)Sidearms (Capcom, 1986, yoko)
10)Outzone (Toaplan, 1990, tate)

I would go with Area 88.

How about Mushihime Original Mode? First clears already listed at Hi Score, in just a few days. Same thing happened with ESP. Are they equivalent in difficulty?

Batsugun Special Version isn't too hard to clear the first loop of, though not everyone considers that a "real" 1CC.

Pretty close, although I think Galuda is still easier. The rank in Mushihime is a dog if you no-miss far enough.

I found Mushi Original to be easier than ESPG, but then I did finish Mushi with my last ship and no bombs.. but then I did on ESPG too. :D
Stages 5-1 and 5-2 of Galuda seem the hardest to me, but then stage 3 of Mushi Original is almost on the same level..

I actually think that Dodonpachi is the easiest 1CC Cave game, simply because it is so generous with bombs.

Yeah, Stage 3 of Mushi blows my ball bag. I hate it -- very annoying. Stage 4 and 5 aren't so bad but getting used to the really fast bullets takes a while. I'm pretty close to the 1CC on original. I will go ahead and say it's easier than ESPGaluda for the simple fact there's very little extra scoring to tempt you to do moronic shit, wherein EPSGaluda, one is always filling the screen with bullets. :)

Donpachi and Dodonpachi are both easier to clear than Galuda if you're simply going for a 1CC.

Jakou's final attack is just nasty. I could've sworn that Ketsui's Doom was not nearly this bad from what I've seen.

Ketsui may be worth a try. I'll not claim that it's any easier, but the scoring system is more straight forward than that in DDP & DOJ. Shoot something from a reasonably close distance and you can start a chain of 5-boxes.

Ketsui is actually up there for Cave's hardest shmup, with Dodonpachi DaiOuJou.

Hello all:

I think that 1CC 1st loop for DoDonpachi is not that bad, if you are dedicated. After about 3 months of causal playing (1 game a day), I can get to Stage 6 pretty consistently.

One helpful hint to master DoDonpachi is to play Dai Ou Jou. I can't get far in that game (stage 3), but doing so has helped my DoDonpachi progress.

Cheers.

I've not put much time into DOJ, but I'll say that Ketsui is just as hard, or close to it. The scoring is straight forward and very forgiving, but it promotes really risky play. Even if you're not playing for score, stage 3 gets pretty spicey, and stage 4 is just fucking hard. Stage 5 -- gimme a break!

Hello all:

Yay! I have just managed to 1cc first loop of DoDonpachi with 26608910 as score. I know the score is no good. Still, it serves as encouragement for those who want to 1cc an "easy" 1cc cave game.

Cheers.

Area 88 on an 'easy' clear list? Shit, haven I missed something? It's been a while, but I remember it being a bitch.
