Help buy a monitor to play on PC/Xbox in Tate Mode

I am looking for a quality monitor that "swivels". I don't have a size restriction, I just want to buy something that works with HDMI to play games on PC or Xbox 360. I have never purchased a yoko/tate switching monitor, so thanks for the help!


I still dont know how to tell if a certain monitor can be used in tate mode? Is that IPS? or something else?

IPS is the panel technology. IPS has much better viewing angles than TN panels.

The rotation function on PC monitors is called "pivot". Get a Dell U2312 (23" 16:9) or U2412 (24" 16:10"). Avoid the P models (P2312 and P2412).

The Dell U2312 doesn't have an HDMI port. How can I use this with an Xbox?

I don't understand what that means that they compatible. How do I get the audio and video from an Xbox 360 to a monitor that only takes video (via DVI)?

what do you want to do with the audio signal in the monitor if the monitor doesn't have speakers ?
