Does MVS require an "inline adapter" to be safe with Jamma ?

Post by lovecraft »

This website pretends the MVS slot audio amp might be damaged if it is connected directly to a Jamma setup, so it recommends this adapter :

Is this true, what do you think about it ?

You do not need the adaptor for 1 slot boards as they are Jamma.

If you have a stereo candy cab setup, by using either an Neo-Geo MV-1 or even an MV-1A variant mobo, they'll both output in stereo via a 4-pinout. They even have adjustable volume slider controls. How cool is that?

It's awesome listening to the MVS BGMs of Blazing Star & Fast Striker in stereo indeed.

Blazing star is actually mono.

Adapter is not necessary for 1 slot variants.
1 slot MVS is bog standard JAMMA but with an extra wire for D button.
I actually bought that adapter too, but I ended up not needing to use it.
