if setting up a trick photo like this, place the focus point between the two objects and stop down (more appropriately, set the hyperfocal distance)

Want...not buying, but still want. Would rather get the upcoming Sigma 180mm f/2.8 OS though, unless Canon gets off their asses and updates their 180mm macro in f/2.8 flavor and also gives it the multi-axis image stabilizer in the lens shown here, which is neat to have. Doing just fine with extension tubes though.
