Re: I want Forza 4, but only have NTSC-J 360
You can buy the "Asian" version on Playasia for $49.90 + shipping. If you went with the fastest shipping method, the total would be about the same as if you bought the US version. There's also a limited edition for $10 more.

It supports English voice and text, so I believe the only difference would probably be the case that it comes in.

Glad to help out!
And if you don't have an HDD yet, you can always use a 16GB flash drive to tide you over. You'll need most of the space since Forza 4's installation of both discs takes up 10.5GB of space

Yes, it's not mandatory.
I think if you buy the game early, you'll receive bonus content. Most likely extra cars which will take up a lot of space.

Between the few different regions that are offered on the Xbox360, you benefit most if you have the Asia region console. It allows both Asia and NTSC-J, along with whatever region-free games that comes along the way. In fact, for some reason, NTSC-J games are usually the most expensive around. By just comparing a game that's available across all regions and consoles, NTSC-J on xbox360 seems to be the highest. Not true for all, but that's what I noticed for the few games that actually do interest me so far.
This is my signature. It's so unique, nobody else has it.

Just play Initial D instead!

That's only if you install the contents of disk 1 onto the hard drive. If you're just installing the car packs from disk 2, you won't need more than about 2.6GB, and if you omit the Autovista stuff, you can get that down to about 2GB. I've been having some issues with this, as I've still got a 20GB system (been waiting on either an RRoD or a price drop to upgrade, but I might just have to try to catch a Black Friday deal somewhere) and I don't have enough space to install everything.PinkSweets wrote:Glad to help out!

What made you come to that conclusion?powersoul wrote:Between the few different regions that are offered on the Xbox360, you benefit most if you have the Asia region console. Firstly, Asian consoles use a different voltage than Japanese and US consoles. Not only that, but JP 360's will of course play Japanese and Asian games as well since they're all NTSC-J. Region-free games are barely worth mentioning since any console can play them.
As for the prices of Japanese games, yes, they are expensive. It's always been that way, though. Anyone interested in importing a JP console is most likely aware of what they're getting themselves into, and generally not interested in Asian version games. The only time I've heard of someone purchasing an Asian game is when they planned to play something released in the US/Europe, and it ended up being region locked. Perfect examples are Square Enix RPG's - they usually lock all versions for some odd reason.
If you're importing Japanese games for your Asian 360, the prices will be the same, so I don't see how one would benefit more having an Asian console. They aren't even that much cheaper. Moreover, they don't make Asian versions of a lot of JP games, so it's not like you'd be saving any money owning an Asian 360. Cave games are a perfect example.

Actually, all Xbox 360 accept the same voltages. It's just the PSU that is different.
Aren't Asian and Japanese consoles in 99.9% of cases exactly the same in regards to game support (NTSC-J).
Asian consoles will play all JP releases just fine and vice versa.

So, if you live in the US with an Asian 360, you would need a converter, right?
And yeah, Asian and JP 360's both support NTSC-J.
All I was curious about is why he stated that one would benefit most from owning an Asian console.

You'd just need a US 360 PSU.

A JPN region 360 PSU (power supply unit) will work just fine on USA's 120v AC lines. So no need to resort to using an USA region 360 PSU on a JPN or Asian 360 console.

Asian 360s come with a 240v PSU though.
