Questions about the Mini Super NES

Post by evil_ash_xero »

I was thinking about getting one of these off of Ebay, but I don't know if they're any good or not. Are they cheaply made, or break down easily? Also, I use RGB cables on my SNES...does the mini have this capability also?

No RGB out of the box, but the system can be modded to RGB.

They are very well made, imo. Less parts to break and very compact. Only drawback is that unless you get some mods done, you are stuck with RF out for audio/video :?

really ? the japanese SFC jr models have the standard multi-AV output which works with the usual composite video + stereo audio cable.

Oh, crap, just realized I mis-read the title. I missed the "super"

Mini snes is great. Like Fudoh said, you'll need to mod it for RGB (which I believe only requires wires, no extra parts).

AV Famicom yes, but not most NES 2s out there. I have seen a couple pics of a NES 2 with Nintendo A/V Multi Out ports, but those were supposedly only given out to people who had to send their NES 2s to Nintendo back in the day. Other than those very few, most every NES 2 has RF out only.

thanks, didn't know that. Amazing considering that the original NES had nice RCA outputs already.

Seriously. Guess Nintendo looked back at their data from the 80's/90's and said "well, in America, most people just used their RF connection, anyway. Let's save $0.50 and leave that out." Sorry, Nintendo, that was a long time ago :?
