Don't be afraid to think of something outlandish. Make it "back of the DVD box" material. Have fun!

My idea for a film is about a cocaine addict (Jeff Goldblum) who, at the court of law's command has to do community service for life as punishment for initiating the most effective pyramid scheme known to man. By the end of the last movie (plan for sequels), he wishes he got the lethal injection instead. Anyway, his first task is to look after a group of children ages 10 to 14. He knows next to nothing about kids and the activities they enjoy, but he vaguely remembers his dog taking him on a hot air balloon ride when he was a youngster. Turns out that the balloon ride was a hallucination because of all those drugs, but he never becomes aware of this. Nevertheless, without telling anyone, he takes the kids on a balloon ride with four bottles of water, a paintball gun and a sleeping bag...for himself. The movie tells of the hilarity, shameless narcissism, and overall irresponsibility that occurred on that four day ride. And maybe, just maybe, our anti-hero learns a valuable lesson...but it might be different than the one you probably have in mind. It would be best classified as a dark comedy.

A hundred or so years in the future. With a molecular density detector, a secret agent finds that some people in important positions give readings completely beyond the human range. He is abducted and has his memory erased. He must escape, recover his past, and figure out just what those people are.

...okay, can anyone guess from where that is?

An honest, church-going, pillar-of-the-community, family man (but depressed) business owner (Robin Williams) is the victim of a robbery while closing his store. During the robbery, the tables are somehow turned and the owner overpowers the robber, binds him, and drags him to the back room. Feeling that the robber needs to be "taught a lesson" he keeps him in the storeroom / basement and slowly tortures and humiliates him over a period of 2 weeks. During this time the owners marriage improves, as does his relationship with his kids. He begins losing weight and becoming healthier and more outgoing.
While initially the robber is portrayed as a merciless animal, you soon see the circumstances through flashbacks that led to his desperate move. Soon the shop owner is the monster and the robber is the sympathetic victim. The robber is killed, and the shop owner goes about his life as usual with his desires for blood momentarily quelled. It's the feel-good movie of the summer!

Every idea has been taken, so I'm sure this is going to remind someone of something.

I like that idea. Now here's another.

In the near future, mankind has found a way of knowing each and every individual's fate before it occurs using a mysterious crystalline technology discovered by a space droid that was sent out by NASA to find anything of value on Jupiter. The substance is nicknamed "Revelation 9", in accordance with 8 other failed scientific endeavors to confirm the concepts of precognition and fate. Any events that would harm us along the way, cause us to fall on the brink of despair, could be easily avoided in many cases with this crucial insight. But the outcome would always, and tragically (or not so tragically in other cases) remain the same.

Now that this cloud is blanketed over the storyline, this is about the main character.

A boy is at the ripe age of finding out his destiny by gazing into an R9. He is taken to a precog facility called M.A.X.I.S., which is one of four American branches of the global company. Gazing into the radiant crystal, he sees himself with a woman who appears to be very affectionate towards him. Then he sees a gradual decline in his sanity. Before he is even 25, he is destined to fall into an irreversible, untreatable psychosis. A psychosis which, has such a hold on his well being that it rips him away from his future soulmate and lands him in an institute for the criminally insane. The condition, the crystal prophesied, would only get worse through time.

The boy's brother (who committed suicide in his bedroom by hanging himself over the fan with rope, only to crash down with the fan following him) was a romance novel writer extraordinaire. Unfortunately for him, his legacy with young and horny girls everywhere would only come after his passing. The irony being he died a virgin (he never worked a day in his life, never published his books in his own lifetime, and he didn't have the courage to steal for hooker money, nor did he have the motivation to.), but millions of young women would have loved to marry him and make passionate love to him after his father published his only two works postmortem...or so everyone thought. At home, the boy finds hidden behind a painting in his brother's room five complete novels. A lightbulb goes on in his head, and he decides to claim them as his own work, thereby living off of his brother's legacy immorally. This single decision would be the roots to the tree of his ultimate fate. He will soon know the truth about himself, what he is capable of changing as well as not changing, and the importance of staying true to one's self and not living in pretentiousness.

It's the future during the next world war: Men against female in all nations.

Yes, feminism has escalated to the point that at first, pick-up lines would get you arrested, then it was looking too long at a woman, then curfews was instated by the government, only allowing men to be outdoors after 22.00 hrs until 06.00 while the women are safe at home, sleeping. Robots take over law enforcement as they're sexless. Underground "dating clubs" were non-feminist men and female engage in soap opera style romance with candle light dinners.

But, somehow the robots start to develop sexual genders and cop-bots everywhere starts to wear makeup and fake mustaches... Troubled by this development, even the most hardcore feminists are starting to have second thoughts and a plan to find common ground is underway.

The Worlds Luckiest Man (1997) - Starring Jon Dough and 101 women. Someone had a VHS tape of this when I was back in university, and it seemed to always be playing in the background at any party I went to.

That was indeed my inspiration. I think I downloaded a piece of it (via FTP) back on fucking ISDN dialup when I first moved to Japan. Boy, was I hard up then.

Nobody's ever done a horror/gore (zombie) flick that takes place inside a modern-day Japanese game center and what it takes to survive it all. Work out a good plot with some interesting twists & spins along with some interesting characters + some smokin' hot babes with curvaceous figures (as possible victims/zombies during the pandemic) to spice things up = priceless & mindless fun for a couple of hours. Would definitely appeal to the arcade/game center/horror/gore fans worldwide indeed. A bit of full-frontal nudity is obligatory and is considered usual standard fare for horror flicks these days. ^_~

Or how about "Game Center Horror" -- sporting the tagline phrase: "The day that the candy cabs took revenge!" Features super hard-core horror/gore EFX where the candy cabs start to devour unsuspecting gamers/victims in new and novel ways. What's the underlying cause of all these incidents taking place & will the bloody carnage ever stop? Putting a 100 yen coin into the coin slot will never be the same again! Do so if you dare!

A movie where an idealist has the power to destroy the earth and black mails all the presidents to carry out a change in the world thats sets out those ideals. The sequel would have the benefits and downfalls in greater depth.

Things like -

Oil is illegal for use (alternative fuel in full effect)
Non productive humans forced to do things productive.
No classes, just one equal race of humans.
Maximum births = one per mother/father = 2 per couple.
I think you get the picture.
All non abiding citizens get to go Australia lol.

It would be like the 10 commandments re-written.

I think that was the basis for "This Island Earth" or maybe "When Worlds Collide".. If not, it was one of those sci-fi b&w films from the '50s. An alien race of "universe police" came to earth and made the nations give up nuclear weapons because they were a threat to the rest of the universe. As this was set during the cold war, of course the Soviet Union was made out to be the bad guys who refused to give up their nukes, and the earth was almost destroyed because of them.

I was playing Major Havoc the other day and I thought it would make a great movie. A lone spaceship, far from earth or any other planet, crewed entirely by a staff of clones of one lonely spaceman, trying to destroy the malfunctioning automated robotic warships of a long-dead civilization before they destroy earth - a planet none of the clones have ever seen or been to. The clones watch each other get killed off in grisly ways one by one as they attempt to perform a thankless suicide mission. Would make a great vehicle for a talented character actor, plus great sci-fi.

Our collective time spent on this forum is basically Shmups Forum: The Movie. Though I would still pay to experience arguments about scanlines and legitimacy of lag in giant I-MAX fucking movie theaters. After credit roll, the list of high scores for every game on the board would be listed.

STGT: The Movie. Borrow the idea from Densha Otoko TV series of cutting to each shmupper sitting at his own PC/cab playing the game, trolling the forums, or whatever they're doing. I think PCE fan X! should be included as well even if he doesn't compete in STGT. Maybe include some banned former shmups members as incompetent villan characters.

Okay, idea for a movie... hmmm. Maybe try a short television series of 25 or 50 minute episodes called Soldier Of Fortune. I'd like it to be non-professional or amateur actors in order to create a sense of "reality"/"documentary" in a series that is hyper-realistic with an unreal set-up (kinda like a K-drama hahah).

The episodes would be broken down into story arcs:

*Boy meets girl.

*Boy falls in love with girl.

*Girl moves back to her home country.

*War breaks out in the girl's country.

*There is no way to contact anyone in the country, except by way of military aid.

*Boy infiltrates the country by joining the military or finds a way to enter the country under the pretense of fighting.

*Boy AWOLs and runs to find the girl: so now both the enemy and the military are looking for him.

*Boy runs through the city until he comes to the countryside and hides out there.

*Boy is discovered by a girl from the local militia.

*Militia girl decides to take pity on the boy after hearing his story and helps him travel around to find the main girl.

*They both take off, get into adventures and close calls, and the militia girl begins to develop feelings for the boy.

*Boy finds the main girl and parts with the militia girl... turns out the main girl is already engaged and the boy is unceremoniously dumped. Boy escapes before he's caught.

*The fighting gets much worse.

*Boy wanders aimlessly and finds the militia girl again.

*They make it back to her small town and then a siege takes place.

*With nothing to lose, the boy takes up arms with the local militia and delivers a Braveheart kind of speech.

*Lots of action, lots of fighting, lots of dead people, and close calls for the main characters.

*The final deciding battle takes place and he manages to lead a small group of armed people and capture the enemy's position.

*The town declares him a "hero." The militia girl declares her feelings to the boy... and the boy turns her down.

*The final camera shot is one where the boy is being carted away by the military for being a "deserter."
